1001 Albums Summary

Love the overall vibe, very wild, very artful, very raw, very influential. Loved reading about the history and connections that it had and made. Loved the themes and sounds and instruments clashing together in a beautiful purposeful dissonance. Very awesome, unfortunately not my type of sound but I can still appreciate it for what it is and how much it means to people and the world. However, I do have to agree with other people in their analysis that this album may only be seen as greatly as it is because of The Rolling Stones name, if anyone else had made it I know even I(someone who has never listened to a Rolling Stones album before this) would not see it as favorably. I want so hard to jam out to this, but I can really only enjoy it from a far. Like a memory of a great song from your childhood but when you listen to it again you go "oh...I mean its definitely still good its just...not how I remember...".

So powerful, so colorful, so alive. Made me dance and sing and feel so much. Exudes joy and beauty. Was unsure at the start of the album but by the end I was a Femi Kuti truther. Plenty Nonsense was a fan favorite for me. Might be a hot take but gives me a Metallica meets big brass band meets afro beats in the most awesome way. Love, love, love.

This one took multiple all the way through listens for me to really start to get into it, at first everything sort of just melded together and passed in one ear and out the other, like an entire album of parents from the peanuts talking. After about round 4 or 5 my teeth truly started to sink in and magic started to happen. The chaos and beauty and dissonance started to make sense and appear like finally seeing the picture in an optical illusion. I will still say my favor really lies in the heavy fast paced rock-oriented tracks than it does with the slower, softer almost lullaby like sounds of the in betweens. I still greatly appreciate those and their design and direction but for me this is really an amazing band with insanely precise drive and focus on their vision, but my feeble mind was unfortunately able to grasp only around half of the album. Shout out to little ghost being a song I always loved from Paranorman and had no idea where it came from. I think with following listens my tune could change but big swings and big delivery I just may not be the proper audience. Also Blue Orchid, awesome track, can see why it's the most popular of the album.
