I have to be honest, the only song by the killers I've listened to up until this moment is Mr. Brightside (or at least only one i was aware of).
Very nostalgic of a time and place I didn't live in. Not an american, the Killers just didn't make it into my listening go-to music. The album came out in 2004 and i was like, 7 years old in Italy.
Spent a lot of time on tumblr form 2010-2018 and the Killers were everywhere there, but yeah, definitely not in my circles.
Glad I got to participate, after too long of a time, in the listening of this album. It feels like listening to like, toned down Muse. It's not really my go-to genre and I tend to go elsewhere for early 2000s nostalgia. I'm a basic bitch and I lean towards a good LCD Soundystem re-listen.
I don't think I'll ever put this album on after this first entire listen, but it was not too bad in the end.
3 just because it’s my first review, my ratings will settle with time lol
Loved the vibe.
Not my fave album by The Talking Heads (The Talking Heads ‘77 is my go-to); made me feel like walking through a cool neo-noir movie, and I think it could go well with a rewatch of They Live.
In some ways reminds me of something on the line of The Revolution Will Not Be Televised by Gil Scott Heron.
Will check the lyrics again later, but it’s a solid 4 out of 5 for now
I have to admit that considering the amount of music I listen to on a daily basis, I never got around to check out one of the most famous albums from Pink Floyd.
I am not a Pink Floyd fan, I just listened to the most famous tracks, so this was completely new to me (appalling lol).
I imagine that going to a concert, dropping a tab, and listening to these tracks must’ve been mindblowing.
Best track is, to me, Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pts 6-9). Such a beautiful way to close an album as intense as this.
I feel like I should give this a 5 even if I don’t know if I’ll ever revisit the whole album. But the last song will definitely end up in my rotation lol
Again I'm feeling _dragged_ by this project...
I barely listened to Johnny Cash, I'm 28 and I say I love music, and never got around to listen to this moving artist.
I have to admit my first exposure to Johnny Cash was the video from The One That Got Away by Katy Perry. I know, I'm Italian, my parents listened to completely different genres and they were more into Pink Floyd and David Bowie than into Johnny Cash, clearly.
Anyways, back to this album, it was moving, and fun, and loved the intermissions where he's talking about the tour, and writing songs, and the crowd going crazy when he gets to the last songs.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful, this is gonna get a full ass 5.
Every day I send the album I get to my best friend, and every day she’s baffled by the fact that I’ve never listened to one of the albums.
My taste is all over the place and it’s not developed coherently.
Anyways, wtf this album was great, from start to finish. I can’t say much about hip-hop because it’s not a genre i gravitate towards, but this for sure it’s gonna get a few re-listens and I def have to look more into it.
