A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
May 01 2026

This is actually my first beatles album that I’ve listened to. One thing’s for sure it started really really strong. I absolutely loved the first half of the album, but it got a bit old too quickly. The lyrics are fun and catchy, but at times they can become a bit annoying. Like ok, I got the idea that you guys really love that girl from the first song, there’s no need to sing about that on every song. Vocals are amazing tho. Like amazing amazing. Beautiful harmonics, on a few songs I heard some really fun drums. I think the best thing about this album is that on every song you can find a particular element that sounds really cool and this gives the album a big plus in my books. I can see why they were such a big thing in the sixties and why they still are. I’m not a huge fan of pop music, I always thought of it as digestible music for ordinary people, but I can’t lie I found myself smiling and knocking my foot on some of these songs. Overall a good catchy album that has interesting elements throughout it. 68/100

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
May 05 2026

Ok, so... wtf!? It’s mind-blowing to me that I haven’t heard anything from Tracy Chapman until now. The only song that sounded remotely familiar was 'Fast Car'—and what a masterpiece it is! This is a beautiful album from start to finish; it’s so emotional that I almost started crying on the bus. This record proves that simplicity goes a long way. The lyrics are stunning and, sadly, they are still just as relevant in today’s world. Tracy has a unique way of transmitting emotion without trying to 'over-impress' with her vocals. It feels raw and authentic. There’s a certain quality to her voice—it almost sounds like she’s bored, but in the best way possible. It’s as if the things she’s singing about have left her feeling numb, and I really love that vibe. This is going straight into my heavy rotation.
