Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
May 07 2026

Enjoyed it, but the songs are a bit too repetitive. I don't think these are Marley's best written songs. I was moved by some of the lyrics about the long suffering of his people, though. Those resonated with me. The love songs, however, not so much.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
May 08 2026

Some great beats, some decent rhymes, but definitely not the full mature sounds of later albums. But that's to be expected from a debut album.

Murmur by R.E.M.
May 09 2026

Just okay, the lyrics don’t do it for me. I like impressionistic lyrics but not so much these.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
May 10 2026

Couple of great songs, but I've never like songs about the music industry. Can't exactly relate lol.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
May 11 2026

So many great songs and storytelling. Had to take a star off for Stray Cat Blues and Salt of the Earth. I know that 60 years have passed and I am looking at it from a modern perspective, but Stray Cat Blues just grossed me out and cast a shadow over the rest of the album. Yeck. And Salt of the Earth came across and pandering and condescending. Maybe it was meant to lift up and bring attention to the plight of the working man, but if so it failed. The rest of the album is great though.
