1001 Albums Summary

Very slow. Relaxing, but boring at some parts. Beautiful all together, though. Most captivating part of the music is the guitar.

I wasn't sure how I felt about the first two songs, but Barrytown got me. I love the melody, lyrics and instruments. I think this gratefully impacts what I thought I would rate the album.

This album is quite slow. It's classified as soft-rock but it's also very country. I wasn't a fan of a lot of the melodies. I really liked Atlantic City, though. The songwriting is definitely beautiful and each song has a story that fits well with the last. The story behind why he wrote the album also makes it clear that the lyrics are more important than the instrumentals, contrary to some of his other work.
