1001 Albums Summary

Enjoyable but probably wont revisit it.

With the amount of, "Best Albums Ever," lists this album has made it on to, I cant wait for this album to be over and I have two songs left as I type this. This couldnt be farther from what I enjoy. Thats not to say similar music hasent caught my attention but this album just drags on. I cant understand any of the lyrics and im not intrigued enough to look into them with such a repetitive sounding album. Nothing surprising or new in any song. Almost every song sounds the exact same. Second Listen: okay apon learning that the lyrics are more than often just glossolalia and I need to focus on just the sound I decided to give the album another listen. I still mostly stand by my point that the majority of song sound super similar. Massive room filling pads and everything sounding at about the same volume. Its all a bit too much and makes it less enjoyable. Still the last song was my favorite with how sonically different the intro, chorus and bridges were. Im just never really in the mood for music that makes me feel like im in a black light felt poster or the liminal space of an empty mall. Would say 1 - 1.5 stars.
