1001 Albums Summary

So, I never used to be into the Arctic Monkeys when they were arriving in the 2000s. I kind of thought they sounded a lot like all the other new wave rock coming out at the time. We had The Strokes, The Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, The Fratellis and whole bunch of others doing very similar things. And for me personally the Artic Monkeys got a little drowned out. I was more into The White Stripes, The Darkenss, Wolfmother and Jet at the time. As the years have gone by I have listened to more and more of the Arctic Monkeys and I realised that they have very enduring songs. Especially off this album. I am a fan of this. 10/10

Look, I am a Bon Scott fan through and through. I know that without Brian Johnson we would never had hits like Back in Black and Thunderstruck or Hell's Bells. This is probably peak Johnson. AC/DC beyond this is really just Angus doing the same thing he did for the entirety of his career.

Yep. First few songs were great. Definitely feel like it was an album of the 60s. Worthy of a listen at least once. For a minute I thought, these guys should have been The Beatles, but I just feel like it didn't push enough. There was definitely recording shenanigans, like playing with stereo. I dunno. Maybe I'm just past my old bands are better than new bands phase.
