Hotel California by Eagles

> Hotel California I remember my initial introduction to The Eagles was a boy being almost stunned I didn’t know who they were and I originally listened to two songs by them for him and it was Hotel California and One of These Nights. (I did like both!) The title track of this album which I can’t lie, I liked primarily for it’s familiarity and later made the connection it was because of Frank Ocean’s American Wedding song had been appearing in my TikTok for you page at the time. > New Kid in Town I like how it can get a bit dreamy, I can see the dad rock aspect of it. > Life in the Fast Line Okay, slightly more edgy, more ac/dc? > Wasted Time I genuinely spaced out, but it was good background noise to my dream journaling. > (Reprise) Genuinely kind of beautiful, all albums should have an orchestra thrown in the middle. > Victim of Love I actually quite liked it! The lyrics are meh. > Pretty Maids All in a Row Yeah, dad rock. > Try and Love Again I actually like this, lyrics and all, and if I said its kinda Heart-y would u be mad. > The Last Resort Meh.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman

A lot of lyrics I resonated with, it wasn't flashy because it didn't need to be and I loved it and it added to how vulnerable? and open the album felt. I need to stop reading reviews while actively listening to an album for the first time because the more I read about “secretary rock” the more misogynistic the label sounded even with all of the disclaimers.
