1. beautiful intrumental introduction, almost folky? Mental note: learn this on the guitar 2. IMMEDIATELY HIT WITH THE SYNTH,, very reflective microcosm on how society fails to help the youth, then proceeds to complain about their "troubled" nature as if they aren't a product of their environment (yikes) 3. The American Dream(TM) in a song,, how I imagine young Willy + Linda Loman from Death of a Salesman, this song is quietly tragic in that sense 4. OH MY DAYS THIS SONG REMINDS ME OF MY OCs GUILLERMO AND ADELAIDA!!!! (Also deffo Willy + Linda Loman again),, wanting to hold onto a relationship because it's all you've ever known, and the predictability, no matter how toxic, is safe, so you stay 5. sonder (also sza's ancestors just put in a room lol) 6. OMG THEY REFERENCED THE NAME OF THE ALBUM!!!! This song is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to grow old with all my friends, they mean the world to me. I also googled what a bookend was, and this is such a fitting metaphor for how my friends have always kept me upright whenever I felt like leaning off the bookshelf. 7. NOW IM SOBBING IN MY ROOM FUCK THIIS

I was a lukewarm fan of Miles Davis, but listening to these pieces just solidified my love for his art. When I was a kid, I had to choose between learning the guitar and learning the trumpet, and I have no regrets in choosing guitar, but mannnn sometimes I wish I could’ve picked up the trumpet too,, Miles Davis will ALWAYS have a fan in me

The first ‘experimental’ piece I’ve heard so far and I don’t completely hate it! I mildly dislike it and I probably wouldn’t listen again, but I see what they were trying to do here and I respect the vision!! I read somewhere that these are performance pieces, so I might appreciate it more if I watched the music videos. That being said, I can definitely see some songs being part of movie soundtracks, I just don’t see the album as a standalone cohesive piece if that makes sense. It sounds like what would happen if you stuck the oompaloompas in a recording studio, and I adore the oompaloompas, so as I keep mentioning, this wasn’t a total blow, just not something I wouldn’t listen to again.
