1001 Albums Summary

I have never listened to Johnny Cash beyond watching the biopic with Joaquin Phoenix. Listening to this, with it being outside my general genre choice, was surprisingly enjoyable to me. I miss this sort of simplicity in music with live acoustic instruments and nothing digital.

After knowing of this album by reputation only because it was well reviewed when it released I was underwhelmed. It rings very loud of aaa pop album status with its overworked production at the same time Lorde's vocals aren't dynamic enough for me. It's not until the last half of the album any track has vocal notes firmly in the treble clef. I favorited one of the singles but overall this was very good but not great to me

Having only ever really heard their most popular song or two... I never knew black Sabbath sounded like this. I loved this.

Seminal college rock deserving of its place in history leaves me wondering how I havent done this listen through before now. This is the first album here I'll probably listen to straight through again. Excellent.

I like Sting but I'm not extensively familiar with his work solo or with The Police. I had only heard message in a bottle before. It's obvious why this was popular and the band had some staying power, however after some of these other albums I can't give this a 5
