Licensed To Ill
by Beastie Boys
The production is infectious, but I quickly fatigued of the repetitive shouting and sexist, outdated lyrics. This is inventive for a debut album and the blend of rap and rock is its guiding force that was ahead of its time. Fight For Your Right and No Sleep Til Brooklyn are the most distinctive and memorable, among many songs that tend to blend together. While listening to this, I was transported to a room of drunk frat guys moshing atop sticky, beer-soaked concrete floors absolutely eating this up... which just isn't my scene.
