I like most of them, however it relies too heavily on repeating the same section. Which starts to make it feel like a slog... Good though just needs some shorter versions for some of the songs. I guess.

I like the singer, however there's something lacking I think it's usually the accompaniment or the lyrics/ the delivery feels off.
The best example that does it well is probably "One Way or Another" where they both intermingle, although the song is heavy overused in other media it's still an alright piece.
But perhaps that's part of my issue, that is there are plenty of times that said intermingling seems forced.
All in all as individual pieces it's good but all together it all starts to feel a little samey.

It's blues man, his voice is great, not very repetitive, it's a good album.

Not my type of music but if it was on in the background I wouldn't dislike it. Some bits I really don't love and could be taken out or redone to make them better pieces. 5/10
Eh I guess it's okay. It's one of those where a friend/acquaintance starts playing it and you bear with it because it's not annoying enough to ruin their mood but it's close. 2/10
I don't know how you can make the lyrics non repetitive yet feel the as if it's the most repetitive music I've ever listened to. I couldn't even get through one song without wanting to punch a wall. I can see why people would like it but I sure as heck don't.
There were a couple of interesting songs that didn't really mesh or were way to obviously for the movie, although they were pretty silly.
I'm almost always a fan of more instrumental rather than vocal and this does that well, it's fairly well done to the point of when vocals start I wasn't caught off guard, usually. Very good background music while also being able to solidly stand alone.
7/10 (possibly 8 on a good day)
Most of the pieces in this album sound very similar to one another not enough to get really irritated but enough that it can drag on, however it's not bad music just not my favorite as a whole playlist. My favorite by far was Calvary, and happy trails did crack me up for personal reasons. 6/10
Man Cat Stevens has a great mesh going on with his singing and instrumental style and the songs in this album are pretty great and flow very well together while still being distinct enough to tell which song your listening to but you could easily not realize the individual songs if your not paying attention.
My favorite will probably always be 'Father and Son'.
And I'd be lying if I told you that 'Where do the Children Play?' didn't raise an eyebrow although I'm certain it's purely pure hearted it's still something that'd cause me to question people that love the song.

I'd say it's a solid album and there's a couple of pieces that remind me of other songs from other artists that I really like and am sure were inspired from this album. However I much rather listen to those than these ones, maybe it's first listen bias, whatever the case it doesn't matter. Definitely worth a listen but I probably will never seek out any of these songs again.
