1001 Albums Summary

I thought I would dislike the soft moments on the album more, but I really enjoyed them. I've heard this album before and expected to enjoy it as a whole, but found new favorite moments than I'd previously found in listening to the song single by single. American Idiot and Jesus of Suburbia are of course excellent, but I loved Are we Waiting and Give me Novacaine were new favs. Homecoming is by far the weakest portion. Feels like a 7/10 project, maybe verging on an 8. Other than Homecoming it's very strong, it's just not necessarily the most engaging or interesting style to me.

Found myself just waiting for it to end. Felt repetitive and lethargic. Parts of it were interesting, but maybe only because they were so buried in a molasses of soul that I got excited from any break from the monotony. Much of it felt like it could be the backtrack to a sad Peanuts scene. Nothing necessarily wrong with the instrumentation or singing, just... boring.
