1001 Albums Summary

given what i know of gorillaz discography, i was expecting a more upbeat morning. this was surprisingly slow and dare i say boring. first part of the album bored me to almost country extents, then when some rap finally showed up it left as soon as it was given to me. it felt like it was trying to do something artsy but at the same time i’m not sure? i do enjoy some funky and weird noises it must be said, but i found myself checking where i was through the album because i was bored of it. i’m mildly aware that gorillaz is meant to have lore of some kind which i am perhaps missing? it felt like an album full of filler songs, waiting for the next one with some meat that never came. i guess M1 A1 was okay but yeah. i would describe a lot of them as background music in a video game level, which in this context i don’t think is a compliment. in the end i need to decide on how i rate these, this is my first album. i think whether i would re-listen ought to be a factor, and since i can’t imagine having another pop at any of the song…
