Disintegration by The Cure
Sep 29 2026

Dark, moody & ethereal drowned in 80s synthwave emotion. Tracks on the backend run a few minutes too long, but I’m not upset by the length of the project on a whole, coming in at a little over an hour. A stellar and captivating listen from cover to cover.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Sep 30 2026

Completely harmless in its funky Motown fusion, it didn’t do anything to blow me away either. Not my favorite version of through the grapevine, but I can understand if someone claimed it to be the best. I felt the influence the group had on the Jackson 5 the entire way through, very cool.

Take Me to the River is a fun track but I had a hard time finding any other memorable spots on this project. Talking heads have always been a very hit or miss band for me though, this was definitely one of theIr better outings. Fun album, doesn’t overstay its welcome and is mostly harmless. Just not 100% my cup of tea. I can understand the decisiveness in the vocals, for sure.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Oct 02 2026

Really surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did given my perception of Billy Joel’s music being as lukewarm as it has been for as long as I’ve heard it. Some really catchy tracks on this album and was overall an easy listen that get through, my only personal exception being the ending track. Everything g else was solid and has a surprising amount of commercial airplay on it. I’ve certainly heard some of these songs a million times without realizing it before going into a first listen through the whole thing. Standout songs would probably be Movin Out, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, Vienna & Only the Good Die Young

I don’t care how many times I try, I can never get into any of Dylan’s music. The vocals are always so drab, boring & unremarkable with a slight porky pig-esque cadence. I absolutely can’t stand it. Most of the instrumentation in his songs end up being just as meandering and boring. Blaring harmonica interrupts the grating vocals, weaving in and out of two things I could absolutely do without. And then there’s the perpetual strumming of an acoustic guitar which you’d be lucky to get more than one chord out of per song. It’s just not for me. I can respect Dylan for how highly regarded he has been for so long by the people that click with him. I’m just not one of those individuals. Coming back again out of curiosity time and time again continues to only leave me more confused than the previous attempt.

Queen II by Queen
Oct 04 2026

This was an awesome album and I’d expect nothing less from Queen. Really surprised this sophomore project got some sour looks thrown its way upon its initial release but seems to be respected after the fact. I love that grandiose feeling their songs always nail. I’ve always been a huge video game nerd and looking at the tracklist here, I couldn’t help but ask “Was ‘ogre battle: March of the black queen’ inspired by Queen?!” and was very delighted to find those pieces fit together absolutely perfectly. To that point, March of the Black Queen was probably my personal highlight, so epic.
