Murmur by R.E.M.
Oct 06 2026

Dynamo by Soda Stereo vibes, love the harmonization here, great guitar melodies, Top Floor Still Broke vibes, this is sooooo Soda Stereo coded but with a little more slack to it, it sounds very dated to the 80s but at the same time I can see how this could be influential, the sounds are relatively tame and boring for what I'm used to (other than a few softer parts and guitar led portions) but everything works together really well, big big fan of these harmonic choruses, also one song uses that like 6th to 4th thing I'm addicted to so yeah this is a good meal.

Parachutes by Coldplay

Very sentimental, great songwriting, great lovely mixing, some parts don't work fully but the emotional intention is noticed and appreciated. This is when coldplay was cool.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Oct 09 2026

This album starts out slightly promising, really only because it's Van Halen. Like omg guys its Van Halen the band your dad won't shut up about! Van Halen is a band that is good on paper but not when you actually listen. A lot of the big hitters here have a sauce but they're all bogged down and just sound kinda dull and weird. Whoever mixed this was probably on the wrong drugs, I mean everyone here was on drugs when making this, the only time it really really works is Eruption which is just a big flex of a guitar solo for a little over a minute. This is the epitome of lame american dad rock, I was trying to find enjoyment in this but then Ice Cream Man ruined anything nice I had to say about the album, like sure it was probably fun and sexy or whatever nearly 50 years ago but today it's just goofy and beaten into the ground. I'm gonna go listen to the runaways as a pallet cleanser.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails

Something tells me I'll be judged for this take, so I'll keep it mostly to myself. Regardless, this is one of the most influential albums ever, at least to me. Get with it or suffer in ignorance and mediocrity. That's mean of me to say, maybe you people don't need industrial music with massive soul to calm all the angst within your minds, lucky you.

Metal Box by Public Image Ltd.
Oct 14 2026

This album is weirdddd, took me a while to figure out if it was in a good or bad way. It feels like an uncomfortable smoke sesh, some parts are good, some parts make no sense, some parts are very distracting and other parts make you go what the fuck is this do I like this why is this like this holy shit? I think Metal Box needs to be commended for being able to make me question its nature at every turn. It's a bunch of weirdly mixed punk, with wacko moments that kinda meld together, and then it kinda just ends. Okay then, interesting, I'm good leaving it at that I don't need to listen to chant a second time to try and discern all it's intricacies. The weird first impression is enough for me.
