1001 Albums Summary

This album and timeframe of their discography invokes fond memories of playing RockBand in the Joneses basement. Though I don’t remember this album specifically and didn’t recognize many songs aside from the two covers. It wasn’t a bad listen but I don’t see myself revisiting this one over and over. Favorite songs: You Really Got A Hold On Me & Devil In Her Heart.

Never listened to this album all the way through but it’s a sneaky banger. They did a great job of not sounding too “one note” throughout the album, which I think happens a lot more in modern day music. Favorite songs: Almost Cut My Hair, Our House, and Everybody I Love You.

To my ears? Terrible. Maybe I’m missing something that only audiophiles can hear, but that was the worst album I’ve heard in a while. The random horns, autotuned screaming, long drawn out notes that he can’t hold anymore, and overall unsettlingly haunting/eerie feeling of every song = an album I will never listen to again if I can help it. Sorry David Bowie and God rest your soul, but this one wasn’t it for me.

Enjoyable album, will probably listen to a few of the songs, but didn’t feel particularly moved by it. However, I could see myself getting way more into the songs if I knew the lyrics, which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2. Favorite songs: I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For (only one I knew beforehand), Running To Stand Still, and Trip Through Your Wires.

This is another classic that I’ve never listened to all the way through and didn’t realize that it’s heater after heater, some I didn’t even know were PF songs. Honestly a culture altering banger of an album, 12/10. Will be listening to every single song for the rest of time and will be searching for a good copy of this album on vinyl.

The more I listened to this one the more I liked it. Cool to finally know who sings the song “Alright”. A lot of their songs a give me a “movie montage” song vibe. Overall enjoyed the listen and added a few songs to various playlists. Favorite Songs: Time, Sofa (Of My Lethargy), Time To Go.
