1001 Albums Summary

The beat is fairly good; some of the lyrics fall flat, but in comparison to other rap songs, it is fairly good. There are some interesting songs, i liked She's Crafty and Fight for Your Right as well as New Style. Was not a large fan of Girls; perhaps it was the lyrics or the xylophone that was in the background of the song that reminded me of a children's song of sorts. Strong sense of theme for the album, but perhaps that was the downfall of sorts; overall at 2.5/5.

Ahh yes.. the depressed white boy anthems. I found these songs more energetic than the other Radiohead songs I have listened to and quite enjoyed the overall sound and energy of the songs. With the lyrics not being the central point of the album (but still impactful), I felt myself enjoying the music and the lyrics together, and appreciating the beauty of the singing. Overall, the album felt very cohesive, but not too similar that the songs blended into each other. However, I did not like the long introductions for the songs, and would have liked the vocals of the songs to have a different tempo, as at times it felt repetitive. Final score 3.5/5- maybe just not fully in the emo mindset yet to enjoy it to the full potential.

My first thought was, why the heck would anyone choose to listen to a higher-pitched Apple alarm, lyrics a very repetitive, and there is more of an emphasis on the synth-ie sounds of the music and the beat. At times I felt like I was forcing myself to listen to video game background music in my free time, while I understand its influences in techno music of our day, not my jam, and I will probably not be listening to it again. Might grow on me over time, however... Overall 1/5
