The first time I heard about Hellyeah was when they were at a metal festival I went to one summer. The only thing I knew about them was that it had Vinnie Paul and Mudvayne's singer in it. I remember at the time that I was pretty disappointed in how boring it was, considering it was a supergroup, and I was just looking forward for their set to end. When I saw that album being suggested, I could not help but roll my eyes. Still, I gave it its chance. From the get go I was appalled by how horrible it sounded. With a lineup like that I honestly don't understand how they were not able to have a better sound engineer to master this. At least there was a bit of drive and catchiness in the first song. Second song started and I was laughing at how cringe the soft intro was. From there the album only got worse. Just so uninspired, so cliché, so generic. The most run of the mill, chugging, alt metal riff possible. The lyrics read like they were written by an angry teenager trying too hard to look tough, not by some grown ass men. The metal representation in the original list is lacklustre and this album certainly does not help the cause of the genre. It is 5FDP's unloved redneck cousin. Sorry for being this harsh, but this album is truly forgettable. 1/10
