I feel like this is not going to help with my headache. This is so fucked. A lot of effort for a lot of shitty music. Laughably bad, but in a way that makes it really funny. If this is just a stupid parody, it's the most genius thing I have ever heard. Ok, It's like everyone, even Wikipedia, is agreeing that the album is a masterpiece and a soulful vision of the future of world-music, but for gods sake they play the kazoo! I could give this album a 5 or a 1 and nothing in between. Goddamn, what a listen. But definitely worth the listen. If you ever want to listen to something different. Listen to this. Perfect album 5/7 Ok I was joking and was going to give the album a 1 for it's obvious and inherent BADness, but after seeing one of the most popular reviews of it on this site, stating that it's a : "soul-shaking" and "a once in a life-time album", as the only actual review of an album on the profile, and thinking of the fact that he might've had the dedication to make new accounts again and again, just so he could get this album and give it a five and an over-the-top good review, makes me feel so warm inside. Maybe they had the exact same ironic humor as we do today, and chose to make something really beauti'fæl, but the lyrics and messages are so sincere and good that they make me think that maybe they were all just tone-deaf, or unimaginably high when making these tunes, but no matter what I love this. And I admire this. But holy shit is it bad. "A Very Cellular Song" Is very silly. Thinking of myself as a very small amobea, wiggling and seeing another one of myself being created from myself as well as riding backwards on a giraffe and laughing is great. This is very cute, but its still so silly and weird, like why wouldn't they conform to the norms and divide this piece up in multiple songs instead of having these akward endings multiple times in the middle of the song. This is quite a weird listen. I feel like I've really spent some quality time with these guys, and if I'd been high I don't think I'd ever be able to go down again. I arrive at "The Water Song" and realize, again, how crazy bad these sounds are. How did they manage to make water flowing sound bad? This is so fucked, why do I genuinely like this? I'm at "Three Is a Green Crown" and it's actually so good, what the fuck is going on. I feel all my worries and daily struggles slowly resolve and vanish in a misty nothingness. "Swift as the Wind" has arrived and I feel how the mysteries of the world hath entered me and begun their everlasting gnawing of my down-beaten and cold heart, and finally a beginning of an understanding life has come its way. "Nightfall" has come, and I am ready to go to sleep. Conquer my mind in it's real place of stay; my dreams. I have listened to the whole album again. This has truly been a sight-gaining experience for me, and I am not going to forget it, "The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter" has landed itself a spot on my 1001 list, and it's there to stay. If music is art, and the purpose of art is to make you think, and not least /feel/, this album can easily be called some of the best music.
I will be returning to the chicken shack
society, television phone bad
I gotta say fellas, this is some of the most fucked up shit. It has a vibe. And I do enjoy noise 4/5
A masterful album about heartbreak. I am always a fan of the old ones just because of the feel of the recordings. They kind of scratch an invisible itch of mine, and I've been a fan of this 50's popular music since fallout sparked my interest for it. It's such an enjoyable album from start to finish, not necessarily particularly genius og creative, I am just in love with the feeling it portrays.
Definitely not bad, got some iconic songs onthere like immigrant song, and since I've been loving you was a long acoustic piece out of the ordinary. My favorite was Friends, which was a new track for me.
It's said that this album is very good quality, sound-wise. So I guess it's essential to have it as an LP instead of on Spotify. It is very good quality, I just don't dig the harmonica. It will never sound like good quality
I was slow I'll listen too it today. Did hear the can't help falling in love with you thing though, and that was absolutely amazing.
This is a psychadelic bore
Kind of just a good time :)
Surprisingly easy to listen through, and the ending was great, both message-wise and just my musical enjoyment I guess.
The most generic pop/country music. But very enjoyable nontheless.
I will definitely be coming back to this one. 4 out of 5
Might have been some african 217-tone system but it sounded pretty off to me. Nice reggae vibe, but the execution wasn't too good imo.
Ill give it a five just for wish you were here, the shine on you crazy diamond is a 4.
It was okay. Maybe it gets better with time. 3 stars
I will be returning to the chicken shack
So weird, but I got a tim buckley song recommended after the album that was awesome
Awesome lyrics. Really good, took me by surprise.
society, television phone bad
The first half was really uninspired I think with som really mediocre beats, but then it began to pick up and was actually ok. Song cry and heart of the city were great
Conduit for sale! Makes this album a 4 to me
Walk this way has always been a favorite of mine. 4
Some noteworthy lyrics and good sounds, but also some cringe lyrics and boring musical passages
Kind of boring
God, disco is the best, but every track is so goddamn long without really introducing new stuff
Was sceptical at first because it was not what I expected, but there were some really good lyrics, which I really connected to
Dogshit. sry, I did not have a good day lol
Nice 80s vibes idk
okay album. Of course I'm nostalgic whenever I hear back in the saddle. 3
Father And Son will always be close to my heart, such a good song. And discovered some of the other bangers on the album
Feels at first like a very silly parody of a german metal album, but under the surface it's actually much more meaningful that you'd think. In perspective to how long they've come today, it's pretty amazing I've never heard of them before. Also the wagnerian influences are amazing. Actually a 4...
Now I have to choose between changes and life on mars, dont do this to me. Otherwise so good
Definitely a good record, and it gets A LOT of well-deserved praise. I think if I read a little more into the lyrics it'd resonate with me more, but for my general enjoyment through a couple of listens it gets a 3
Definitely some great lyricism, helped get through my day
It was ok, not on par with blonde on blonde though
Not on spotify actually, was a hazzle to listen on youtube, but it was an ok album
Very predictable, but has some enjoyable moments
The soundtrack for going batshit crazy, overdosing on ketamine, sweating and screaming in a crowd of 164 people doing the same in a smashed up, crackhut in the woods. I definitely see the appeal. The guitar solos in "motor city is burning" are the most washed up shitscrambles of early rock and roll and punk tropes I have ever heard though.
Great album.. two weeks is on another level though. The foreground is spectacular too.
Just started the first song and I already like it... Overall a really nice album, Without you just takes it to the next level. A solid 3.5 to me
First song is awesome. Otherwise not very impressive
Nice tunes to relax and study to. Kinda forget I'm listening to it.
A godlike album cover for a less than decent record
I gotta say fellas, this is some of the most fucked up shit. It has a vibe. And I do enjoy noise 4/5
Straight-A rapping. Just not really my can of soup
ok album, but Unfinished Sympathy is on another level 3.49/5
What people say they hate when they say they hate country music
All of them are bangers, not a personal 5 but 100% deserves to be someones
Theres seriously nothing like Elvis Presley out there. Such an all around enjoyable album. Maybe because he was a defining force of todays popular music, it's culturally easy to listen to, but it's still a 5 for me, also considering the impact of Elvis and his style in the popmusic industry.
laughably bad at points, one decent song, not sure why it's on the list
LES GOOOOOO! Right from the get-go, very energetic and fun. Still not the best album at all 2/5
Had already got the original album. Love it, it must have been awesome to be at the concert, but I'd rather just listen to the studio recorded once since I don't have the memories to justify the live version.
This has vecome my favorite rap album atm. And also the best rap album I've at heard so far after about 100 albums on this list. It's nice to listen to and also experimental and special in many ways. About 4.5 to me butI'll give it a 5 because it's the only really good rap album I've heard so far. (On this list)
It feels very basic pop'y, I'm not a fan, but "There She Goes" bumps it up to a 3 haha.
It wis not bad at all, I thought I was going to hear the beach boys at first but I was pleasantly surprised.
I really tried to like this album. I've listened to it a couple times, and most of the time I just find everything about it so boring. Some of the tracks are so iconic and holds a special place in my heart, but other than the nostalgia I just really don't think it's that good of an album. Great lyrics and some good messages but they are almost always accompanied by repetetive beats and at times horrible vocals. It's definitely worth a listen though. Ok it has to be a 4 I just haven't listened enough:))
I love it <3, not VERY creative music, but beautiful nontheless 4/5
It's definitely interesting
It's not bad. It didn't touch me too deeply.
Interesting, would need another listen to really get a grip of it I feel.
Fun album, easy too what it has lead to in the current rap industry, but also has some boring themes and downright bad music, imo
Really not my style of music, but it was clearly a big inspiration for some of the rappers and hip-hop artists of the 10's. Love that Beyoncé is featured on "Nothing out There for Me" as "Beyoncé Knowles", as she hadn't even released an album yet. 2/5
Oh, I love this. 3.5 out of five First three songs are incredible
To me the cover of the album also has something to say about it, and this one so incredibly hard to look at that I have to bump the score down a little. And I have personally absolutely zero affiliation with Illinois and couldn't even tell you if it's closer to the west or the east coast in North America. It is quite a beautiful sounding album though, but with such intricate orchestrations and lyrics, and titles that you can barely read, it's hard for me to grasp what feelings Sufjan Stevens was going for, and trying to portray, through just one day of listening. 3\5 but might've changed it if I got to know it, and if you could do that on here.
Was ready to listen to a masterpiece. Think my expectations may have been to high, because I did not enjoy very much.
Of course I already listened to this one, but I am not (grieving) to listen to it again. What a crazy album, it deserves a 5 based on B.O.B alone, but personally I'm hovering a 4.2 to 4.6 rating. Such a creative album though, I'll give it a 5 because I want it to be recognized as one of the greats.
This is what I imagined Wu-tang would be like; actually creative and a blast to listen to! Closing in on a 5 for sure
Man, what can I say. One of the g.o.a.t.s, so many incredible songs; from the known (Here Comes The Sun, Come Together) to the lesser known... (Octopuses Garden, I Want You (She's So Heavy)) and never afraid to be wacky and creative with songs like Maxwell's Silver Hammer and Polythene Pam. I really like how Golden Slumbers and Carry That Weight carry the album to the end. And "Something" has to be the best love song I have ever heard. The Beatles' last recorded album carries them out with a bang! a concrete 5
I was not very moved by this album. Just because an album is a concept-album, doesen't mean it's genius. But this is not bad at all, it's just not really for me... today I think.
Lets gooooooo Comeon thats a five and I havent even heard it today yet
Some of it was a bit too slow to me. Got the best and the worst of the genre in my opinion. 2,5 right in the middle
Not a great album. Not the best I've heard of George Michael
Weirdly enjoyable in an otherworldly sense. To me this is a case of great taste, terrible execution. I don't enjoy listening to it very much, but the sounds remind me so much of some of my favorite artist Perturbator and Carpenter Brut, and I guess the whole retro wave genre took some sort of inspiratiokn from these cybernetic sounds. Definitely belongs on this list. I'll bump it up a score for that. Plus; the albumcover looks awesome.
Bruh. Hit me a bit like "The Wall", didn't understand all the hype, not a big fan of the phsycadelic movement of the 70s, but it was a much better than that album. There was some actual feeling and creativity in this one. These are quick reviews so I'm not going into detail, but I think this album is about a 4.4
Right of the bat - pretty fucking good. Fuck I love the 80s I like the darker turn it takes, reminds me of the dark synth era of retrosynthwave, and I like that alot. I didn't really love any of the tracks, but I love the atmosphere and style that I'll almost give it a five. It's up there. 4.5 But damn what an ugly album cover, it reminds me of Massive Attack - Blue Lines, and damn that light brown color is so sad to look at - Maybe I'll learn to love it
I'm usually not a big fan of the early 70s psychadelic rock, but this is a little before that I guess, and I do like that. I really liked "Flowers and Beads". In the title track I keep waiting for rasputin to kick in.
The man-machine was better. This is a little to weird. But it has that dark scary technologic vibe that I love. And wow the original album cover might be the ugliest image I have seen yet. The remastered us much better. Damn what a weird album. 2/5 so far
I swear I do not understand why these country musicians overuse the harmonica to this degree, it always just tears my ears a new one because I like to listen to music with the volume turned all the way up. And they never even sound nice. Harmonicas are nice in real life but so annoying on high quality productions. Sry, Thats my little rant about harmonicas. Tha album was very uninteresting to me. 2/5
Their vocals are horable to listen to, the instrumental sections are pretty good, saves it from being a 1. Punk was a mistake
Off the bat It's not as bad as I thought it would be because I thought it would somewhat resemble what I heard in my previous album; Wild Gift by X. But the first track would come to kill my expectations, as it was quite an enjoyable track; A catchy 80s hit, which is just my style. The middle got kind of stiff at some point, and couldn't really hold my attention for very long. A 4 for the title track, but the rest of the album didn't slap too hard. 3/5 Though I did discover the the's newest album "dusk" and that. Is. Amazing.
Some nice pop/rock, great for that evening dinner with the parents. Parents usually love U2, I've gathered 3/5 2.5/5 because of the lip smack at 1:12 in Grace. Fuck man
I loved this so much more than I thought I would. Shit, man Kanyes reputation is both very deserved in regards to numbers, but he does get more hate than he deserves, this album is so creative, and still just a great listen. The autotuned bits reminds me of Travis Scott and makes me wanna barf, but it's not too bad. My most unexpected 5
I love stuff like this. Always been a big fan of the singers of the 50s and 60s. Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. This might just be another 5 for me. It gets a little samey, especially in terms of lyrics, after the 1 hour-mark, but the thing is that it's good music so it doesen't really matter.
This kind of girly punkrock always sounds so innocent and cute. Its so boring to me. May be the best punk-rock album I've come across though, I'd give it a 3 but I'll bump it down to a 2 because of the crappy vocals. It has some great energy to it though. ... Actually Bordering a 1 because of the title track. Holy shit thats the worst thing I've ever heard. Ok first half is ok but second half is so terrible.
I really love it this far, it's a long album though. That's a four for some reason :))
Goddammit no more punkrock please for the love of god. You call it protopunk, but its all the same. Ok this is much better than I expected. At least they're playing well. Good energy sometimes, but it just feels like cute schoolgirl metal for some reason. It's quite funny too actually. Ok yeah this is hilarious. Doesen't take itself too seriously, consider giving it a 4. Might be the first album to make me laugh out loud.
It was ok Wouldn't listen to it again though Ham n eggs is good too though And Can I Kick It? Awesome
Nice folk music. I enjoyed it. But I wouldn't consider it a masterpiece, by any stretch, as people say. 3/5
Wtf I love it much more than I thought I would. He really do be Cee Lo Green. It's not a 5 but damn it's close. 4.5/5
This is already 1000x better than the first album I got by The Clash; their self-titled album was an absolute disaster, gave it a 1. This album I'm even considering a 5. After the guns of brixton.. maybe not. But I love the Elvis Presley album cover. I wonder why they took that design. The expanded material is not very good though. 3.5 towards a 4
Fuck, thats bordering a 5 So much good energy. Fuck it, it was funny as hell
Haven't heard it all through yet, but I will. And so far it's a five. What I thought Pink Floyd would sound like.
Pretty bad, yeah. I think thats it. 2 or a 3.
I think it's nothing special, but I really enjoyed it. It's a really good album. But I am happy that I didnt hear free bird the day that I got it, cuz that wouldve ended badly.
This is quite a good album. And I just love the color of the cover. 3/5
Had a shitty fucking night in Greece with this album. It helped alot. Together with Off the wall.
Im giving it a 5 because I got it at a very fitting time,
A little boring. But sunshine of your love is sooo iconic. Shit I fell asleep. Mothers Lament is so great though, it woke me right back up. 3.5/5
Some more silly western country music. Do right woman is really good. Very enjoyable actually, a 4 so far. Yea, hot burrito is so good.
The best Iron Maiden album, so good, so fun, and Run To the Hills have been a favorite of mine for a looong time, so it was really pleasant to hear it again. 4 stars.
I am not that fond of long -adelic songs that just keeps on going to try to bubble up some kind of high from deep within the bowels of the listener, you really have to be high on funk to really get into this. But I mean who can really say no to the funk, all the funk, and nothing but the funk? 3 stars Maggotbrain is of course on the album, so gotta give it something And wtf is lunchmeataphobia. Everything about that track is a little repulsive.
Quite enyoable. I like it. 3/5 Oh fuck you Rod Stewart, "(I know) I'm Losing You" and "(Find A) Reason To Believe" fucking broke me. The lyrics are heart wrenching after losing someone you hold dear. 5 stars from my broken heart :))
First song is pretty shit, but the second one kinda picks up some feeling. This is actually really good. Had some really good ones like Sunday shining, Your love gets sweeter and supreme I preme. so it's a half half to me 3.5
I just cannot get enough of this. The album is not a 5 Its very repetitive and the closing tracks are a little dull But god I'm all for that cute 60s love music. You Don't Own Me and My Colouring Book are really good
Pretty shit music, and very repetitive, so there's not much to even talk about And that lisp makes me feel so uncomfortable, at least it was short This might very well be a one. Yup, there are no redeeming quilities
Good album, nice to see some music that defined the Beatles, and listen to so more tunes written by John. I didn't enjoy the album and its themes as much as I did Abbey Road so I'll leave this at a low 4.
Really good start, dropped off towards the middle after love and affection. Very good guitar-playing, especially in the last half Gave me some Carole King Vibes and to a higher degree Tracy Chapman vibes 3.5/5
I had higher expectations for this album. I really thought I'd love Aphex Twin, because I know some of his songs like; of course Alberto Balsalm, and I really love the vibe it gives me. This album not so much. Oh wait, does it pick up after Heliosphan? No... I find it too silly most times, and not as dark og abnormal as I would've hoped 3
Punk really was a mistake. It's literally all the same. More enjoyable than some others though. If you gave me this, the Clash, The Manic Street Preachers, Elastica, Minor Threat, New York Dolls, X-Ray Spex or Ramones, I wouldn't know who it would be because they just have the exact same album with the exact same songs all of them. Ok I would probably know, but I wouldn't enjoy it hahah
This was a cool ass album, need to check it out some more, prob a 3 but ill be generous
Papa was a rolling stone is an awesome song, but not very listenable. Rest of the album fucking rocks, considering a 5 actually. Do your thing, and run charlie run doesent live up to the others to me, and I'll settle for a 4. Great album though.
Some good metal never goes unappreciated. It's not very creative though.
First of all, this is on of the ugliest album covers yet. Good energy in the leading track, but as others've said, these old synths are really bad. Does really sound like RHCP. But mixed with some darker metal songs. Actually quite like this one. Really good, that's a 4
3/5 Creative, love the arty direction while keeping the only good thing from the punk-genre; the energy. Enjoyed it, though none of the songs specifically piqued my interest.
Feels like one continuous song called "Rainy Day" and It's one really nice day :) Nothing special imo, but at least it's not punk
Couldn't top his first album, but its still just Elvis 4/5
Some okay songs, very 80's, but the title track and afterwards were really bad.
Just had Kilimanjaro also from 1980 by The Teardrops Explodes. At this point after listening to 3 tracks it has the same issues as that record which I did not like very much, but it does most of the things that did but better. No track overstays its due in a way, different from the last. About 2.5/5
Ok This is so fucking good. Best Metal album yet! Holy Shit so much creativity. And the energy is absolutely off the charts, would love to mosh to these guys.
3/5 For some reason I just don't really have that much to say about this album. I mean it's the Kinks, it's quite good
A very good album, I think it's something that takes time to come around though, so for now I'm leaning on a 3 or a 4. Gives me a great vibe now though, and some of the songs are perfect for an Awesome Mix™, so I think a 4 is in order.
It feels so different when every single song absolutely bangs. Damn. Very few of the songs miss the mark. And Runaway might just be one of the best songs. Period.
I feel like this is not going to help with my headache. This is so fucked. A lot of effort for a lot of shitty music. Laughably bad, but in a way that makes it really funny. If this is just a stupid parody, it's the most genius thing I have ever heard. "Swift as the Wind" has arrived and I feel how the mysteries of the world hath entered me and begun their everlasting gnawing of my down-beaten and cold heart, and finally a beginning of an understanding life has come its way. If music is art, and the purpose of art is to make you think, and not least /feel/, this album can easily be called some of the best music.
Right off the bat, this albumcover was made by a 9-year old. Ok but the actual music is fucking legendary so far, 1999 and little red corvette got me listening. And then delirious, and let's pretend that we're married which are so silly. Actually this is quite a silly album overall. Something in the water was very special with some great sounds, but some of the long songs bored me to death though. Free is good too. Ok International Lover is so good. Would bump to a 4 if the album cover wasn't so ugly and the two preceding songs weren't so boring. 3/5
The beats and the flow is spot on. But it's not interesting or as deep as they make it seem. Somehow this album makes me smell America around me, it's a very unusual sensation. It's like I'm back in Atlanta, and somehow the music feels so important. Very hardhitting, and quite a nice listen. What I'm trying to write; it's kinda monotonic in a style I don't rock too hard, but they got mad skills. Low 3/5 Ok I just heard 4 consecutive songs and didn't feel any change in setting or sound of any kind. It's just too straightforward to me. 2/5 Ok this happened when I got "It takes a nation of millions to hold us back" too. I get so tired of this music, and it becomes a chore to listen to the rest. 1.5/5
The text on the cover looks like it was put on there with the default ms paint text. The songs are great though. Reminds me of Prefab Sprout. McQueen is one of my favorite albums, and this one doesen't go all the way to be equal imo, a 3.5.
Oooh what a good album. This is 80's rock. There's gotta be some vocals and instruments that are just a little off, otherwise this is close to a five. Ok at least half the songs by now just didn't intrique me very much. Bumping down to a 3. The first two songs are 5s then it just kinda loses momentum after that. "Our House" was never very good, it just has a way of absolutely etching itself into your brain for the rest of the day.
Nothing special to me. But not bad. Ok the vocals kinda decline during. This album is not very good, could qualify for a 1. For some reason it's the most soulless thing I've heard yet. Brainstorm interlude is kind of interesting. To the extent psychadelia can be interesting. Ugh it's so boring. 1
Really not as good as I would've wished for. I was ready for some banger ballads, and some of them definitely were, Avalanche and Lasr years man were very good, then it got a little funny, until the famous blue raincoat takes it back again, though the quality of the lead vocals are weirdly low in that particular song. A solid 3 imo. Avalanche and famous blue raincoat are really good though
Oh this is a nice album. Sounds like Taylor Swifts older sister lol. This music just makes me feel good. The sound that could play in the radio all day because it's so easy to listen to, but it would quickly get very boring. Made my day I wanna give it a 4. The lyrics are nice too. Probably deserves a 3 because she doesen't actually sing that well. but idc:))
Thank god he turned down the volume of the harmonica from Blonde On Blonde, that could get very hard to listen to. Ok nevermind "you're gonna make me lonesome when you go" fucking killed my ears holy shit. The lyrics are really great and all, but none of the songs really hit me very hard. I think Bob Dylans music is a bit overrated, felt the same with Blonde On Blonde, except for "I Want You", that song is fucking exceptional. Some songs though, like "Lilly, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts makes me physically cringe because the intro is so horrible to listen to. And then of course a song like "If You See Her, Say Hello" comes and fucking breaks the mold. Fuck man. a 4 for that actually And "Shelter From the Storm" is quite good too. Was ready to hear a 5 but I just don't see it. An album of 3 but, If you see her, gets it to a 4 to me.
I mean I want to like it. I just don't. Actual trash actually. They ate the two genres of rap and rock and shat out this album. It's so weirdly uncreative.
Great album. 4 Heard it while reading the bible. Matched the vibe
Very nice pacing, the opening track sets the mood, and leads to one of the nicest campfire ballads I've heard on this list. First three songs are amazing, after that it just digs itself down in the depths of unrecognizable country music. Nice vibe, but it falls short as it goes along. high 3
Their first 5 songs are amazing. The later songs where they make use of the Moog Synthesizer are really quite bad, but hey props to them for trying out the new electronic alien sound machine, to help the industry adopt those kinds of sounds so we can have the amazing synth music we have today. Second half is quite bad, but the sounds of alien blasters and things breaking must have been very refreshing in 1968. Very nice album. 3.
What a man. Never been the biggest fan of the blues, but there's something I really love about it, and whatever that is, this man has it. 4/5
Fitting that the most popular song on the album is called Headache. Did not like it very much. Not worth a listen to me. 1
This is amazing. I know this is one of those albums that just gets better the more familliar you get with it. I am considering just giving it a 5 because I know I'll regret if I don't have it as one of the greats. I love the cover too :)
Good album. Not a fan of the "hard-hitting" songs though. Sad story about the two, and quite an unfortunate title. 3
This album has such a fucking vibe, and I'm so here for it. I can only imagine how fucking awesome it must've been to be at the club in 1984 as something from this album took the speakers. It reminds me of a darker, more adult version of AURORA because Fraser's voice is so etheral and she uses her own made up language. Only the outdated drum machine (Persephone suffers from this one) is kind of an issue together with some mastering that seems slightly rushed, but somehow it just adds to the vibe. Really torn on this one, 4 or 5. Lorelei is such a jammer. Though I don't think about half of the songs are going to age very well to me, and just begin sounding weird at some point. Like Aloysius, which is already annoying after two listens. I think this album is a very strong 4. Truly a treasure.
My god what an album. I do appreciate that this is not the most experimental Miles Davis album, and it's just some good normal jazz. I'm not that into the world yet and this is a good starting point I think. Great album.
Let's go oOoOO o RHCPs fucking rock. I always had one of their songs in my little folder when I first started playing guitar. They were almost always the most fun. They are so playful, never afraid to do something they think is fun, and it just shines through in their music. It's really a step-up from Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Frusciante has some of the most memorable riffs ever on this album, Smith makes every song a Bop to listen to, Kiedis is as crazy as always and Flea always fucking delivers haha. I grew up with this album, and some songs like "Parrallel Universe" and "Easily" made me surprised that I'd never really heard them before, and now it's impossible for me to choose a favorite song to put on my playlist so it's an undeniable 5 for me.
Such a beautiful album, but "I'd rather be the devil" is two songs ... That didn't have to be on the album at all imo. "Over The Hill" is the perfect song to leave work to! "Don't Wanna Know" is so chill. "May You Never" is probably the best song on the album, but I'd gotten familiar with "The Man In The Station" some time ago, and I absolutely love that too. Almost a 5'er, if two songs weren't included. 4/5
Great, great album! Bowie is a star. Somehow the songs seem much shorter than they are, everything is still compressed, and stuff happens. Oh damn ok, "Wild Is the Wind" slaps so fucking hard. Good shit. This aged well, and I think it will age even well'er. 5 Didn't enjoy "Golden Years" as much as everyone else it seems, very overrated imo. But the whole of the album makes up for it.
They're very talented. I just didn't think it was that funny. 1
again. Fuck you, I love this. 4/5 Could almost just give it 5 because it's so nice. I don't care that all the songs are shallow love songs, I love it haha but I think a 4 is in order
Some songs reminds me of all the things I don't like about Gorillaz, the flow and vocals that seem very off and the synthesizer that are out of place, and some of them are really not that good. I want to listen to music, not Peter and the Wolf. "Dry Your Eyes" is great but it just can't save it. 1
This is a classic. Doesen't even have pianoman, uptown girl or we didn't start the fire, but the album just flows so well. Wait I know "Just the Way You Are" so well, haha. I forgot tha name. I love this. Yeah the lyrics are not the best, but damn are the tunes catchy! Very easily digestible, and that is not always a bad thing. 5
Its got groove. But somehow it feels very small, the sounds feel very small, and the vocals seem very of. This is pretty bad. 2/5 The further I progress, the further this uninterests me. Nothing happens. 1/5 It's like a parody. "Decline Of The West" is pretty good, but it's not on the original album, so I wont consider it in this context. But I will include it on my playlist instead of any of the other songs lol.
More honkeytonkey than I would've expected, not very revolutionary, but pretty good nontheless. 3/5 "You Can't Always Get What You Want" is very good.
Very good vibe. Nice french beats, reminds me of a chill version of basement jaxx, just because of the cover. Its a little much sometimes with the solo violin or french harmonica. They can cut your ears at times. A 3 to mee.
Got me some prince vibes, with his crazy demeanor and long instrumentals, but with themes and messages that are a bit lighter. One of them is of course racial inequality, which is usually far from light, but it's also just about a cab driver who didn't want to serve him. 2/5
This. For some reason this album took longer than it should to come around for me. But holy shit did it come around :')
Why is every album from the 50s so good!? This has a despicably good vibe holy shit. 5
Weird stuff. Everything sounds that little bit off. "On Battleship Hill" is pretty ok. It picks up as it goes on. 3 stars
Ready for a 5. Big fan. Didn't quite get there though. Grrat music, love the album cover, but I think some of the songs need some time to come around.
Really good stuff. Sometimes the vocals can get very off and sound wrong, but still its so crazy and filled with energy so it doesen't really matter, and even enhances the music. The instrumental sections are fucking great though. The tempo changes on "Chapel Hill" are awesome. 3.5
Fuck you I love this. I do not understand how anyone can say they just don't like ABBA. I'm looking at you Freja.
This is so much more interesting than other popular rock bands from the time like Deep Purple or Black Sabbath, but sometimes enters the boring parts of a KISS album when the whole band is screaming in unison but without the glamour. Eddie Van Helens guitar is legendary for a reason though. It's crazy. A concrete 4. Pretty strong. "I'm The One" and "Ice Cream Man" slaps hard
Really makes you FEEL like... I don't remember. 2 ... 1
I actually quite like it. Unexpected 4. Actually reminds me alot if the coarser songs of The Strokes. "Luau" is pretty retarded though, 7:45 sounds like fucking FlightReacts https://youtu.be/x4LWEvEKT_g "Super Unison" is great, but why did the first minute have to sampled from one tone of a fucking air raid siren. Sometimes it's just bad noise, but most times it's actually fucking incredible. I'm actually torn on giving it a 5 or a 4 now. Because obviously it's not perfect, it has some very weird sound-choices, but goddamn the energy is so good. Fuck you it's a 5.
2 "We Will Fall" is so out of place wtf. 1 not a fan
So good. Concrete 4 " I Shot The Sheriff" will always be a classic. Bob Marley writes great songs. I hadn't heard "Please Be With Me" and wow. That's a ballad that's at least on level with "Wonderful Tonight" damn. What a chill record. "Let It Grow" is a hidden banger wow. Ok it's a five.
"Pleasant Street" is one of my all time favorites. Love this guy. "Carnival Song" Is really weird. Tim Buckleys vocals are as crazy as ever. Great album. 4 Nevermind 5
Nice, reminds me of Avalanches. 3 Wtf is washed away Not a lot of content imo 2
Just woke up from drinking way too much at a christmas dinner with work. This is exactly how I feel Could be a 1 but for the relation a 2 A boring record Whatever 1
Damn this is not what I expected at all. This is awesome. I really wish I'd listened to all of it before. Concrete high 4.
I don't have enough time. But what a good jam for what I've heard. A little boring psychadelic in the short while I listened. Think this is a 3
Very interesting.. 3 Some are just pretty bad. 2
Quite a good album. Elvis Costello always surprises me with his lyrics. 4
Actually don't like it very much. Expected too much because of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" It's probably a 4 but it didn't resonate with me this time. The album cover bumps it up to a 3 though
Pretty bad. 1 Def. Some pretty good lyrics, but nothing to redeem it...
Deep purple is usually pretty bad, probably won't listen to this all the way through. But got kidnapped and swam in the cold sea at night today, so that's something. Highway star or whatever is great
Yo. Former "best album of all time" Low 4 at least. Very experimental album, clearly inspired at points by Ravi Shankar for some reason. They probably all got high and put on some indian music and discovered how cool it can sound. Not really something I would put on any time actually, but it's very cool that such a revered band can make something so out of the ordinary and get praised for it. Kinda cool that it was conceived as one of the first 'concept albums'. "A Day In The Life" is probably John Lennons best song of all time.
3 Very short songs. I'm not a fan of the ugly scream singing, but the groovy bass and RHCP like drums and guitar is great. A low 3. Pretty cool album though
This is a 2. Not as impressive songwriting as Imperial Bedroom.
4 Great album. Very nice vibe. Fuckin'ell but the harmonica is back raping my ears in "Get It On" 3
1 I'm not too fond of that weird deep lispy sound of the voice of so many artists during the 80s. 2. "Mud In Your Eyes" saves it from being a 1 Ok 3, this is getting better
strong 4 can't not love these guys such a nice digestible length of an album, and good length of songs.
Haha got this dec 25th! This most be planned by the creator, nice. Or else it's a crazy coincidence. No matter what I'm not about to give a five to a mediocre christmas compilation produced by a convicted murderer. But a 4 will do. Eh a 3
Emotional rollercoaster. 4 Holy shit this is one unique album. I love it. Though some songs give me that bad 90s film feeling that I also get when seeing that DVD-ad: "You wouldn't download a car", I think it more than makes up for it with eeriness and diversity. "Vermillion Kisses" hit me like a train. 5
Great harmonies, fun chord proggressions, boring themes, not the best of The Beach Boys, but not a bad listen at all. Though these lovesongs are so thematically dry I just can't help but love it, probably because it's from the 60s. A high 3 3.5/5 This might be the whitest album ever, but obviously I really enjoyed it. Also inspired me to begin making a Fallout vibe playlist. 4
I don't feel like spending one and a half hour listening to anyone called the Drive-By Truckers making a rock opera to be honest. But it's not that bad. "Three Great Alabama Icons" actually really explains the theme of this album. And reveals the reasons and prejudice I had when I got this album, and shows why it was completely invalid. Interesting album. 3 eh, still a 2, it's too long and uninteresting.
What a stupid album. I'll give it a 1 so I can remember it. Because it did actually make me feel something and think. I like it. But it's really terrible. "Your business' sucking on my ding-dong" And then they put "Stephanie Says" on the Deluxe Edition, and it sounds like a fucking masterpiece beside all the other horrible shit they made you listen to.
Nice groove from the get-go. It's pretty crazy, not exactly good, but at least it's special. I love when it hits hard though. Ok it's pretty terrible A 1 before hearing paper planes, I don't remember it from the title, so I'm excited ro see if I remember it. Ok of course I remember that haha, lgendary song I'd give it a 3 just for that song, but I actually want to remember this album so I'll give it a 1 so it's on my profile
Thats a low 3 Pretty good But not very It just kinda has to be on the list you know But also I never wanna listen to this again Ok and then the last two songs are masterpieces comeon high 3
This one takes the cake This is the absolute worst album yet
This is pretty high tier. And the cover looks really good. Wtf is "Thorn of Crowns" Solid 4
I like. Love the cover. I'm not sure what to rate it A 3
Pretty good Reminds me of the early Radiohead actually. I take it back, this sucks balls Second half of "Spiders and Vinegaroons" is the only good thing on this album.
Wonder if it's better than Live at the Witch Trials. The worst album yet. Yea this sucks.
Usually the kind of album that I love, but it's not too good. Some outdated somg lyrics. 2
I like it a lot. Great album. 4 So close to a 5, "Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying" with "If You're Feeling Sinister" is so good!
That's a concrete 5
4 really really good album. Liked every song, but many 90s albums sounds just like it. Will relisten soon.
I don't need to listen to this one to know it's the best album on this list. But I sure as hell will.
This is horrible to listen to. Disturbing. But not in the good way.
A 3 probably. A 4, I love this stuff. Also on this album-cover she's the spitting image of Dom from Mr. Robot but with a sexy, curly 80s haircut.
A 3 probably. No this album is a 4 at least, and I 100% need more time to swallow this behemoth of an 'album'. It is 2 albums, so naturally I'd need one more day. At least, there is so much to unpack. There is too much good shit for one album, and it's too good to not give a 5. But it doesen't quite rival B.O.B. One of the best albums. Awesome collabs, especially "Take Off Your Cool". I did not expect to see Norah Jones here, but it is so good.
3 or maybe a 2. Nothing really sticks out.
This is the definition of experimental. The feelings it produces in me are denial and quench. I did not enjoy these 90 minutes, but I very much respect the musicianship that I could never hope to understand. I am not sure what it is, music or transcendent experimentation, but it sure is something. 3 but my musician friend would kill me if I gave it anything less than a 4, and it was ok studying to too.
Not loving it, but it's quite good with the really dark stories and themes together with silly words, mouthfarts and a really non-serious attitude. Great album for the list, but I'm not going to listen to any of it again other than "My Name Is" of course. 2
Just didn't dig it. It's ok hiphop But not really my schtick 2
Can't go wrong with Bowie. "Young Americans" is such a good song. I might actually like this album more than Hunky Dory. I can't choose which song is the best. "It's Gonna Be Me" Is actually so good. Need more time to think about this one. High, high 4
Not a fan, boring album. 2
Oh this is so awesome. Very special. Wii Music. Just listened to "It's A Sin" and "Always On My Mind" for the first time a week ago or something. This is really nice. For some reason the chords just all speak to me. Guess I'm gay now. I love the vibe, my new guilty pleasure. One and One Make 5
I'm so tired of "Bitter Sweet Symphony". The most overrated song on the planet. The rest is fine. 2
Gets boring at times, but I like it. It sounds like something that could inspire some of the genres that I really like today. Mostly electronic x-core-esque, but also the hip-hop of some of the samples. It has a vibe, not a strong one, but one. "Number Song" slaps hard! "Changeling" reminds me of the loading music for Mario Kart Wii Online for some reason. The darker songs almost have a sewerslvt kinda vibe. Love it. "Midnight In A Perfect World" is pretty bad actually. If it'd lose the vocals it'd be great. A 4 or a 5, this is awesome. About 8.5/10
Almost want this on my best albums just for the cover. But the music really bores me. Judging only the 9 first songs on the original album, this is a 1 The deluxe version adds so much good stuff, and actually makes the songs good, I can't comprehend why the difference is so big. "My Own Way" - Manchester Square Demo and "The Chauffeur (Blue Silver)" - Early Version are really good, but the originals are just straight trash.
Uuuh, been looking forward to this one. "Lovesong" and "Pictures Of You" are incredibly powerful songs if you can relate it to something. Or someone. The low frequencies gets kind of samey after a while and a little dizzying to listen to, but overall a hard-hitting melancholic cure for love that's unreciprocated or impossible. Very long songs, but they wouldn't feel complete unless they were. Very good. I don't appreciate when artists just calls their songs Untitled. Especially when the song that gets depreciated with that honor is so nice. I just heard a lot of Adele's music including her cover of lovesong yesterday, too often it feels like this website is collecting cookies haha. low 4, cool atmosphere.
Great start off the bat, love the vibe! But as it gets along the same problems as early Bob Dylan or Ryan Adams are apparent. The harmonica kills my ears. But I love it non the less. Short and sweet. 4 But made me lose the game during "Sedan Delivery" So I gotta bump it down. Great song though. High 3
Actually not that bad, but there are some pretty weird sound choices at times, that does not work out in the musics favor. Pretty boring. But allright instrumental music. Ambient noise, but not the best in that category. Really like "Dirge" and "Lever Street" 2
These 70s rock albums are almost so much more boring than their reputation seem to be. Whole first half was a bit underwhelming, but of course "Kashmir" is quite good, and "Bron-Yr-Aur" is pretty good too. Great guitar. It turns after Kashmir and gets pretty okay. Oh, but this is actually interesting, damn I'm pleasantly surprised. 4 I need some more time with this for sure, but I don't especially want to spend that, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
"The Changeling" is Funky Town. Bluesy, chill record, sometimes adding some tempo. Not the biggest fan, but of course "Riders on the Storm" is great. The most of it bores me to death though. 2
4, pretty fucking good motherfucker. Rap and metal has never mended this well. The cover is so goddamn cool and iconic, that its hard not to put it at 5 just to see it, but the music is just not quite there. Too samey.
What an atrocity of an album. Love the cover though. I honestly think most people are blinded by the story of the album. It's really not very good. 2 for the cover though, and "Twenty Four Hours" which was okay except the vocals that sound like a mix between a Peter Griffin and Hank Hill impression. "Decades" is ok too.
First album to actually blow me away. I was not ready for this album to be so good. Great themes addressing important real world issues, and still being good music. Actually making every song vary from eachother and not just making a 50 min. song. I'm looking at you Rage Against The Machine. Starting off, or should I say, ending with a chill hip-hoppy, silent, broken future of a radioactive fallout or something. Just fucking builds up from there, cause "Homelands" really is a fucking masterpiece, and that caught me off-guard. "Serpents" is the only song that kinda sucks and gets tiring to listen to. "The Conference" was really fucking silly, but I heard it for the first time while getting my room ready for control in the military in like 2 minutes, stressing so much while two dudes yell "didkdkydduddjudjdududkdidudkidkdid" in my ears because I wouldn't take out my earbuds because I couldn't find my headphonecase. Crazy shit. But it really had an effect to say the least. 5/5
Chill record. This feels like it has the exact same influences as yesterdays album, "Beyond Skin" by Nitin Sawhney, but it's just not as good. Too stoney and boring. After the first two songs I thought it was very poppy, and imagined an indian version of the Verve, but it gets a bit more interesting as it moves on. Just not good. It has no vibe at all. Obviously I like "Norwegian Wood", but it's not their song so it doesen't count. 1
"Kizza Me" is really fucking bad. But from there on it's ok. I always loved "Nature Boy" but they don't quite do it justice on this one. Eh ok, but I need a little more time.
Elvis Costello does not deserve this many goddamn places on this list. 1
Really nice. "Hell Is Round The Corner" is so chill. Else it's pretty boring and repulsive. 2
Nothing to hate, nothing to love, simple as that. But "American Girl" is a classic. 2.5/5
I love an album with a vibe. This has that. Nothing really memorable or very interesting, but it has a definite vibe, and I'm all in for that. 3
Uuuh, been looking forward to this one. Hmm, almost not available on Spotify. Really great album from what I've heard, probably a 5 in disguise, so I will return to this one 100%
You gotta love this. If you love disco as much as I do. It's like it never ages. "Le Freak" and "I Want Your Love" are still found on party playlists in 2022 and it doesen't feel out of place at all. Love this stuff. This stuff I hadn't heard was great too.
First song is very weird. But what a nice album. 4
Most of the beats are really boring or just plain bad, and just gets tiring to listen to over and over again for 5 minutes, with no variation. When you reuse a 5 second loop for 5-7 minutes straight, you can at least make it a bit pleasing to listen to. I'll never forget when I first saw Wu-Tang at a festival, worst performers I'd seen and the fans were infinitely worse. Love their incorporation of little snippets of sound from movies and other media to represent their own vision of being fighters in their own life. But the execution is so off that I can't bump it up because of that. 1
Crazy that maybe the most famous musician in our western civilization isn't even overrated at all.
Yoooo lesgooo!! Didn't think this was on the list. Totally deserves it though. Absolutely love this album. The energy is great and the instrumentation is so refreshing! 5
MAX volume required. As I've said before, I do like noise. 3 good record "Duel In The Deep" kinda hurt my ears though, don't listen to that one. It's sad cause I would've liked that one if it wasn't for the screeching.
Not very special, but not badbad. For the most parts. 2 Weird and boring. "Dear God" is really good though.
A little too long. But holy shit what a great album.
What an overrated album. Though "The End" kinda slaps. 2
If anyone asks what the 80s sound like, I'd give them this album. Have had a lot of albums from the 80s and everytime I just expected it to be as good as this one, but they never really make it. And it always makes me think of my mom :)) 5
Good stuff. Some uninspired instrumentals, but overall a very great sound and an awesome voice on that Janis. That's a 4 damn. "Summertime" really fucking slaps.
4, awesome album, but not much happens really. And I mean that must be one of the sexiest albumcovers yet.
Eh, it wasn't horrible. It didn't interest me very much, some exciting lyrics, but that's it. Kinda sad when the best song on the album is a cover.
This is gonna be pretty good. Yup, it's really good actually, but not quite a five, it gets a bit boring at times. Didn't know "Strawberry Letter 23" was on this album too, but what a nice surprise. 4
This is fucking good. Great, great album, but I don't really have anything to connect it to, somehow. Almost every song is crazy beautiful, but I feel like i can't give it a 5. Like it's 100% a fivestarrateable- album, I just don't feel love towards it. :/
Light Poser-metal. But don't tell anyone that I kinda like it. 🤫
I feel like Morrissey would be great to see live, but no songs really stood that much out from eachother. I take that back, "We'll Let You Know" is very nice. Ok they're all very different actually goddamn. And otherwise I enjoyed it all. I gotta go and listen to some more The Smiths. "I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday" got me in a fucking trance damn. 4, could be a 5 actually, na 4 is good. The way the songs get better over time reminds me of Arctic Monkeys ngl. Damn, people really hate this guy, and well, most of the lyrics on this album does make him seem like an asshole who's bitter that his band left him. it's great music though. 5 lol
Yes Lauryn Hill can still rap. I'm not much for the vibe, it is pretty funny though I like that. Didn't love any of it. (Though "No Woman, No Cry" was obviously good) 2
Very cool. Some songs got me groovin' But it's not that interesting. 2
"Would" is good because it means that the album is over. 1
Pablo Honey, but good, and without "thinking about you", so not that good 4
Some pretty spicy beats. 3
Really liked "Tired Eyes" Been loving these Young albums, they really have som golden songs inbetween the rubbish. But most of it is really good actually. 3
Oh funk me.. Curtis Mayfield is a fucking legend. 5
Hauntingly Beautiful. I love the choirsong. 5
Pretty chill 3 Nevermind it's really boring 2 Sounds like they forgot to tune their instruments. Ok this sucks, they even fucked up "May The Circle Be Unbroken". How. 1
It's so much better than any Joy Division album. Been using "The Perfect Kiss" to test headphones for years now hahah And "Sunrise" was an unexpected banger. Minds of 99 has no doubt taken inspiration from these guys. Oh My God. "Elegia" is amazing. Holy shit I love this. 5
Wait this is not supposed to be good. Wtf. The Holy Bible 20 was horseshit, what is this. 4
Somehow the most average album But I do like it. 3
Yo, is that Moby?! If I had to describe this album with one it would be "sample" cause it feels like it was made as a sample album for a 1999 music program for windows 98. Pretty ok The later songs are pretty emotional. Didn't expect that, but I like it. 3
I have absolutely never heard of this band before. But fuck it's good. 4
Good stuff! Best Springsteen album so far. 4
Yes, I like It's great with all the special beats and drums, it's really what makes it stand out so much, and still make me groove my head off. 3.4
I didn't hate it Soundtrack to a really boring game Picks up after a while though 3
Very enjoyable. And very early 2000s. It feels nostalgic even though I can't remember any of this being played, since I was born 2 months after the release, but it feels familiar. 4
I love this so fucking much, god I wanna go to Sicilly. Even though it's Cuban. And they speak spanish. But it's close and I still love it too much to give it less than top score.
Oh damn, David Crosby is in this one too. And Bob Dylan too is just everywhere in western music. Obvious Beatles influences too. The rock feel of the Beatles, the harmonies of the Beach Boys and the Lyrics of Bob Dylan. What's not to like? 4.4
God I already know I love "These Days" The first riff is awesome. Damn "Little Sister" is dull. The way she holds the tones for the full duration of the bar really grinds my gears. Ok when it really gets to it, this sounds really horrible. But a 3 for the cover. Maybe this really has to grow on you idk.
Love this shit. Might be one of the ugliest covers ever though. 5
I hate everything that this album spawned. So much of this I wish noone took inspiration from, most of it is horrible to listen to. But this one is not that bad and I do understand the feeling people get from it. I just usually gag instead, when some guy starts yelling and screaming about their perceived inequality and calls it punk. Ok it gets a point for the cover. But loses it for that cause then it's on my summary :)) 1
Beautiful album. Clever and very emotional lyrics. I really love this stuff. 4
How does everyone love this album so much? Probably doesen't deserve only a 1 but I don't care too much. 1
Better than "Let England Shake", but at times it just doesen't feel like music, it's that boring. I absolutely love the albumcover though. Ok I take that back. Second half picks up. 4
Uuuuh. Been waiting for this Love it, reminds me of my mom :)) 5
He sure can write crazy good songs. "Agnus Dei" has some lovely instrumentation which I've really missed on this list, and it sets the vibe from the start. Ok finally something that makes me feel anything. Probably deserves a 4 for the second half, but I love the cover too. This is beautiful. "Going To A Town" is one of my all time favorite songs. It's not on this album though, and the album it is on kinda sucks. I don't know why I had to say that. 5
As others have expressed, I don't see why you would put live albums on here, would love to see the explanation stated in the book. But that said, it' filled with energy that is not always found in their studio albums, and maybe that's actually a good reason to also hear some of a bands live albums. Ok It might be because it's the only live album that features Keith Moon on the drums. Cause he's really fucking good. Ok, "Young Man Blues" really fucking slaps. Get's pretty boring after a while. But great album. 3
This is so incredibly good. "American Pie" and "Vincent" are literally some of the most beautiful songs in the whole world, and the rest of the album somehow manages to do them justice. Holy shit what an experience. 5
Very overrated. I guess the roughness is what makes it so great. The way you can hear Cobains insecurity I guess. It's pretty sad. "I'm definitely gonna mess this up" Followed by "That sounded good" and someone saying "Shut up" wtf Well I'm not the biggest fan of grunge either. 3
I mean, "Seven Nation Army". And I like that it isn't just noise as it was in white Bloodcells. Not bad at all. 4
What the hell, this is so good. Very Bowie. Very special, but still good. Hmm, this is hard. I'll give it a 4
Why is it always either Bob Dylan, David Crosby, Stills, Nash, the Beatles or the Beach Boys? And why does the Byrds always combine them all on one album. Can't not like it. 4 Ok, this is considerably better than any of their other albums. It's so special compared to the others. 5 But "My Back Pages" is twice on the album? Is it part of the idea? He keeps getting older? I actually really like the way they incorporate psychadelica in this album. It's not like the 13th floor elevators which is just weird noise for 2 hours. Eh it gets a 5 for "Thoughts and Words". It's so good.
Not bad, enjoyed it all The only band that can pull off playing rock with a Flute. For some reason. More really should try. It's kinda funny though 3
Been waiting for this one too Love Paris 1919 4 or 5 definitely Not perfect at least 4
Idk 3? Probably 4, but goddamn have I heard these songs a lot of times. Great energy though. It's not popular for nothing.
"Spil noget med Slayer!" Awesome album, though only one song was memorable. 4
2? Not a big fan of R.E.M. but it wasn't too repetitive 3 Man it does grow on you
Ok this has already blown my mind. I'm not even 4 songs in. Why is this so much better than "All Hope Is Gone"?! 4 This is good noise :) Most unexpected 5 yet
This is the only punk, britpop album that I like. 5
Ok 2 The whole album sucks, and then the remix of "Keep On Movin'" comes and brings the best beat I've ever heard. A 1 though, because the remix doesen't count.
I've had Morrisey and Jim Morrison, finally a Van Morrison record. This is so good. 4
It's no secret that I love Frank Sinatra, but this is not him in his best light. Never been the biggest fan of Bossa Nova either. 4
Hahah didn't expect to see "The Ecstasy Of Gold" here. I fucking love that piece. Ok this rocks hahah.
Well. Ok. Literally everyone in the world knows and loves this album. And also owns the CD somewhere in their house. Maybe except Wade Robson and James Safechuck. 5 regardless
Disco is the best. 5 Maybe just a 4 Maybe a 3. Those remixes were really boring.
Uuh, been waiting for this. Love "Uncertain Smile". 3
Interesting beats. Good sound. My head is banging. Good when you give it some time, and the title makes sense cause it isn't quite orgasmic. 4
Best Boomer music out there. Love it. And I don't know how "Sultans of Swing" still is so good after listening to it about a million times. 4
This is so groovey! 4 So close to a 5 Great instrumentation, nice continuity between songs, and nice lyrics! Love it
Beautiful compositions! In my mind this is the soundtrack for a chill soulsborne game where you don't fight giant scary monsters with gaping mouths of death, but where you might sit and have a cup of tea, and just enjoy the day around you, but the lighting is the same :)) 5? Or a Witcher game placed in Argentina where you have to outdance your opponent in a tango to the death, the violin and the bandonéon makes for a beautiful top and the piano puts a dark foundation to the mix. A solid 4
Loved parts of it. But just because it's interesting, doesen't mean it's good. 2.5
Crazy shit Love a lot of it, gives me major Taxi Driver vibes. 3
The Pet Shop Boys always know which chords I like. This one not so much though. 3
Wait... Is every Leonard Cohen song the same? Fast triplets on a classical guitar or slow strumming and one of the most monotome voices in the world. 4, for suzanne though And I'm sure it grows on me
The intro was great. Unexpected Kanye Some pretty good hip-hop, I like it.
Some sweet gangsta rap. 3 Really bores me after a while though 2
Nice album :) "After Hours" is so cute
This kinda sucks. Might be the most 90s album yet. Everything from the 90s somehow sounds more outdated than anything from the 70s or 80s. 1 Even the coverart screams: "You wouldn't download a car" Some songs are listenable. "Motorhead" is pretty good. "Long Life" reminds me of something that could be good
"Where Is My Mind" Loved this song, and when I heard it in Mr. Robot, it just solidified that love. The rest of the album is listenable. 3
Great album. The cover is one of the ugliest ones I've ever seen, but it reminds me of that one record in your parents collection that you try to play once without thinking much of it, and then it's just much better than you expected. 4
Been looking forward to this. 4 at least. And 1 point for the incredible albumcover. (The building is not even fucking Coles Corner)
Ok country album 3 Ok, it's really good 4
This is so good 4 for "Holes" and "I Collect Coins" "Endlessly" was pretty good too 3
Really good album, didn't expect the level of serenity there was in the last song, but goddamn that was so nice. 3 I'm sure the whole thing is going to grow on me, just like Solid Air
Punk was a mistake 1 The title track wasn't too bad
Hole sure is not the best band 3 Better than the last one though
The Divine Comedy is such and unexpectedly good artist 4 Reminds me of the Last Shadow Puppets, but less gay. And coupled with Rufus Wainwright. Except not really 3 Pretty interesting the whole way through Loved it.
"Stan" and "The Real Slim Shady" are absolute 5's. Rest of the album, not as good, but not bad either. 4
This kinda sucks 2 I don't enjoy this. 1 "One" is okay
Awesome album! I absolutely love the cover. Almost a 5, the love songs get a little stale
Really bad 2 Eh fuck it 1
How the hell could Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark be the supporting act for this maniac. If this is what he thought the future would sound like, I'm really glad he was wrong. 1
The Rolling Stones might be the most overrated band in the world. 1
3 Crazy shit. "Sly" is awesome Was late for morning control, but suddenly I had plenty of time when that piece came on.
Can't really reach the greatness of his other albums, so I'm not much sure why it's on the list, nevertheless I love it. 3
Hey, first time I get the same artist two days in a row! Got this album straight after "Raw Power" so it looks like he just fell down from the stage hahahh This cover is amazing though. But the actual music sucks. 2 I kinda want to give it a 1 just to have a cool cover on my summary. 1 Yup I'll do it, this really sucks Punk was a mistake
5 I just love these songs. "In The Wee Small Hours" was amazing, so of course this is too.
Bob Dylan vibes? 3 Nothing special, "Red Eyes" has great energy though. "In Reverse" really touched me too.
Bored me 2 Got pretty chill around halfway though Not bad 3
4 "Dark But Just A Game" has been a favorite of mine for a long time. But the whole album sure gets a little samey 3
Classic. Even the songs I hadn't heard that much were really good. It's hard to follow up the most succesful album in history, but he did pretty fucking well, Bad sure doesen't feel like a letdown. 4 or 5 Eh 5, it's still legendary
The first song is really hard to get thtough, but after that it actually gets pretty good. 3 Best reggae album yet 4
First good Rolling Stones album 4 I really enjoyed this one.
Guitar Hero Aerosmith was my fucking childhood 4
Well, that's a 5 no doubt People say that Hotel California is the devils song. Quite right, just as I listened to it today I saw a weak moth crawling on the floor. I took it in my hand because I thought that moths were pretty harmless and brought it outside, it stayed there for a little while. What I didn't realize was that this was a vampire-moth. So it jabbed it's strawlike mouth right into the palm of my hand and began sucking my blood. This was a strange coincidence. 5/7 Perfect Score, would get sucked again.
Didn't love it, but there is some great musicianship in there. 3
I did not think I would like this that much 4 Freddie's dead got thriller vibes. Crazy fun album Ok it's kinda stupid 2
2 The European alternate cover makes me hate this album
Hmmmmmm ok, love it, frst three songs are an absolute vibe. Heard them while cycling home from an unforgettable night. The album couldn't keep my attention though. 3
I think it's fine that I missed this one I like the Amy Winehouse cover og "Monkey Man" though
Special I'm glad that I got to listen to it 3 Little too Rolling Stones for me 2 "Revelation" is really special Last part of "Seven And Seven Is" is really good
Talking heads 😳😳😳😱😱😩😱😳😳😩😱 1 Heaven, 2 Ok wtf "Drugs" bangs. At the times when it's not fucking horrible.
So much the Rolling Stones! Ok this is a fun album, best Rolling Stones stuff yet. Though they are overrated, I just listened to a Talking Heads album, and that is what overrated sounds like. 4 The best of the Rolling Stones I've heard this far. 3 Half of it is at least
YES!!! 5 Ok I knew multiple songs quite well, but I didn't know all of the songs would be so good. Obviously Jeff Buckleys only studio album gets a roaring 5. Holy shit when "Eternal Life" came on I thought spotify played from radio or something. It's so different, and so good.
Beat tape for Eminem 3 Some kind of cake 2 This sucks 1 But not that bad "Belladonna" makes me feel something
5 Love this Have heard this shit so incredibly many times, but still it just works.
Rocked the Thriller jacket two years before Michael 1 Ok "Kid" rocks 3 "Brass in Pocket" is great too 3 I swear theres a riff from Hotel California in "Lovers of Today" Ended up being pretty great
Enjoy it alot! Great album, but to me it's not as good as people say it is. 4 Made it to "i" and it took on the show. Love the energy on that song. Justified the 4/5
There it is. :')
Well this is kind of my childhood. I'm very tired of most Green Day songs, but it does have a special place in my heart. 3 I don't understand why half the songs are combined with another one though. It makes for bad songs to put on playlists. Dammit I don't want to like, but there are so many good songs on this one. This album is iconic. 4 I would rather not listen to it though. 3
Ok, I'm getting all the classics now. 4
The day I'm so fucking sick I get this album. 2 Wait wth I thought this would suck. 3 fine
Today sure was Chicken Bones 4 Exciting special album Though the lyrics are outstanding and easy to follow, they get in the way of the music at times. 3 A newer Rufus Wainwright? The german-gay deaththreat song really caught me off-guard.
3 Sure haven't heard of Elbow before, but I mean the music is pretty good. Hey! Richard Hawley! :)) Really beautiful. I wish I had something to link it to right now. 4 I have to listen more to this! "Friend Of Ours" is heartbreaking. Whatever 5
4? This is just 11 of the same song, but I like that song. 3
4 It's really good Just a little too weird at times. (The middle of Moonchild)
3 I could not listen to "Who's Gonna Take The Weight" for more than a minute. 2 The lyrics are fun and clever, but the beats are so goddamn repetetive. I mean of course they are, it's the start of sampled hip-hop, but it's just so boring. "Check The Technique" slaps
Probably the reason that people say that jazz is just a bunch of wrong notes in a weird time progression. I love it 3 6:47 second track and 7:58?
It's a VERY experimental album. I like that about it, and I love Gorillaz to death. But this album really just sucks. Somehow even "Clint Eastwood" can't make up for the fuckery that's going on in this album. Somehow it's just the least enjoyable music to listen to. I'm giving this album a 1, just so I will remember what I felt about it. And also I love the coverart <3
Ok. Fine. This is pretty cool. 4 Just a little too much boring dad music. (Though they get technical even in the boring parts) 3... (2.5)
This is the cutest hard rock ever. 4 The cover looks like a Yu-Gi-Oh card. 3
Dammit! Why are Neil Youngs albums not on spotify?! Gets boring quite quickly, and all Neil Young fans have this circle jerk that he is the best artist of all time, and he can do nothing wrong. I don't get that.. Good songs though.
Gets a little boring at times actually. Love it though 3.5
This is decent. The other to albums I've gotten by the Fall were instant 1's. This juuuust gets to a 2
This is much better than I thought it would be. 4.5 Much heavier than I expected and I really enjoy that
I love "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" more than anything. But then "You Shook Me" comes and bores me to absolute death. "Black Mountain Side" was cool and special. Over all quite a boring, but in the same way interesting album. 4
Very enjoyable piece of spanish music, and very colorful and not at all samey and boring. Good stuff. Heard it on a drive with my mom and she's fluent in spanish so she kept translating what she heard and told me about the songs. Love the vibe. 4
Really nice album. Know "Sea Song" quite well, otherwise I've never heard of this band. 3 Kinda Coldplay-ish. I love it. 4
Not the worst old school rap I've heard 3 It's just really not me 2
Didn't love it 3 Not that great for my workout tbh Ended up just sobbing for 35 minutes straight Wait. Is that Rufus Wainwright? It is
Not as good as Morning Glory, but pretty good album 4 "Live Forever" was the early wonderwall. 3
I love this 4 Like one long, dreamy thought of sorts. 5 And still enjoyable. Oh what a pleasure.
Some really good rap! They all have crazy good flow! 4
Scarier than I thought it would be. Like trying to remember a song; "Everywhere at the End of Time" -esque 3
Thats a 5 Maybe just 4 Didn't expect the Black Sabbath cover
This is hard to listen to. 3 I mean it's real black metal, it's okay
Some good rock bordering metal? Looking forward to actually listening to this
Crazy album Good for studying Don't think I'm going to listen to any of it outside of just the album. 2
Easy listening, groovey and bluesy, and it got some variation in energy, and I think this specific style gets repetitive fast if not. Which is exactly what it does later on. I like it. But it's just so much soloing. 3 2
You cannot fucking give me this now. It gave me a little bit of hope to get through this though. And then the last line of "The One You Really Love" hit me... "Punk Love" saved it all though ahahhah When you make an album 3 hours long, some of it is gonna sound like shit. Quite a bit of this does just that. 2
This is really good! 4
What the hell. I've never seen this before hahahh. Good stuff.
5 I just love this album. "Close To You" has been with me for a long time, and always makes me think of my mom, like a lot of other music on this list, but this song beats most. Also "Reason to Believe" caught me off guard. I've listened to Tim Hardins song A LOT especially Karen Daltons and Rod Stewarts version and it hit me so hard the first time I heard it in "Every Picture Tells a Story". Hadn't heard "Help" and "Another Song" before, and they both really positively surprised me. I was scared the whole thing was going to be way too sweet, but you can really feel both their musical presence, and it's so endearing.
Not the worst Talking Heads I've heard. But by god I just do not like this band. 2 The unfinished outtakes were much better than the actual album 1
Actually some really good ambient music! Watched a perfect sunset while listening so it fit pretty well. 4
The songwriting really reminds me of Elvis. Or little Richard, it's very refreshing. Might be my favorite Creedence Clearwater Revival album. 4
3 The inspiration for trex i swear
3 a pretty great album Not the best Beatles album
A pretty incredible album at the time. It was so damned played everywhere, somehow I've heard every single song before. Good stuff tho
Stevie Wonder vibes. Sometimes. 3 2
"Storms" have made me cry so many times it's not even funny anymore. 5
She really does like showing off her voice. It wasn't bad. 3 2
3 good stuff. Gets a little monotonus though.
1 Ok it really suck, but it's not that bad. When they either take it slow or really scream it's pretty ok 2
Respect is so good they put it twice on the album. 5 4
Really bad I see a darkness is ok
Tainted love. 3 I don't even know why Tainted Love got so popular. 2 If its not horrible to listen to the lyrics are absolutely vile 1 Hmmm this is fucked 2 3
Ok this is straight up the best rock I have ever heard on this list. No other band can compare to the energy Queen has! 5!
Youll completely forget youre listening to music 4?
Loved this album. More than I thought I would. 4
I love these covers, but I keep singing along like it was the originals, and it kinda throws me off. They're still so good though. 5
2 I just don't think this would make my high any better. The worst about being high is when you're tired, I need some energetic music or at least something grander. Ok this is a 1
Sigrid vibe. Very poppy and boring, but I like that. High Horse is great! 3 Rainbow is pretty good too
Why am i getting vietnam flashbacks 1 Not too bad 2
Not on Spotify either! I never liked Joni Mitchells music.
I like Eels. 3 To 4 3.5 And I don't believe there's anyone in the world who likes that albumcover.
2 this is a little boring A womans work is really great though 3
I did not enjoy this very much, but I think it must've been very topical at the time of release. 2
Not the worst punk I've ever heard 2 Might be the best punk actually 3 Ok maybe the best
Wait. I thought this was supposed to be good. Ok this is so nice, not what I expected. 4 Major Graceland vibes. Ok nineteenhundredandeightyfive is so fucking good what the actual fuck. Ok that's a perfect song! 5 for that.
Sticky hands will always be the coolest thing there is. 3 Ok the last song is absolutely unlistenable, fuck that 1
Better than I expected from that coverart, 4 3
So close to a 5 it's a bit tot repetitive, and a bit too 90s. 4.6 maybe.
Maybe a 4 this was good A 3 counting inflation
Oh no Not the harmonica 2
Great energy! And it's actually groovey The good part of punk rock, but made in a time when it wasn't about screaming slurs at your mom because you have to focus on your schoolwork. But yes it is made up of 12 identical songs. 3
That's perfect. Another Arcade Fire album, right as my life turns around. Fuck. 5
2 ok this is hard, cause this really fucking sucks Yea this a 1 Oh thats the meme maybe not
Might be the best rock album ever. Not my favorite though 4.
Jane's Addiction is so fucking bad 1
David Byrne sure knows how to ruin everything he touches. 1 But at least Eno is there to make it listenable 3
5 Imagine that two of the songs on this album is already on my top 5 list.
Gene Clark is so underrated. This is like listening to Bob Dylan but not actually wanting to cut of my ears because of the screeching harmonica and horrible voice. Don't get me wrong I love Bob Dylan, but a whole album of his can get so hard to listen to. Even though the lyrics aren't as deep or captivating or whatever this is nice for a change. 5 Though it sure is not the most memorable.
"What a lovely sound to wake up to" -my roomie when I played the first song
One of the only bands where every song is at least enjoyable. The tempo is a little high and gets a little stale on this album though. 4 3
I'm just not the biggest fan of the beach boys 3 God Only Knows and Wouldn't It Be Nice gets it to a four, but no more than that. 4
Didn't know Tim Buckley could be this boring. 1 I love "Sing a Song for You" But I'm gonna give this album a 1 because it's the only 3 minutes I actually want to listen to. And then I have Tim Buckley smiling on my 5's and sad Tim Buckley on my lowest rated.
ok stuff 2 damn really good, sadly not on spotify :'( 4
The vocals were pretty shit on this one. Sounds like it's inspired by the punk movement. 2 Overall pretty ok though 3
Feeling ecstatic to actually hear an other song than "Come On Eileen" Good shit! Reminds me of Fishermans Blues. 4
Instant 5 Dammit I just want to give it a five, but it's just not that good. It's just Yellow and Shivers that stand out, the other tracks just blend away too much. 4.5, but I really like the Coverart.
"Chemical World" is pretty interesting. Blur has just always been the less-interesting Gorillaz to me. I'm hoping I can leave that thought in the dirt somewhere, but this album doesen't really help much. I'm looking forward to listening to Parklife for sure though. 2
Very listenable. But also very boring. Got some bangers; "Everybody Hurts" and "Man On The Moon" and "Nightswimming" 3.5
Not the worst music. Considering that it's the absolute worst genre Boring. But none of it made me want to cut of my ears. good stuff 2
I made up my mind. I like the Cure. Though there are no real bangers on this one. 3
Yessss. 4 Not very creative though 2 I like it. But its sooo boring 1 It's definitely so much fun to run around and mush into other people to. But then again, it's those metal songs that are just never inviting an actual wall to diverge, or a mosh to even begin. You just kind of wait in anticipation for a thing that never comes. It only invites circles pits, and even they just can't even start if a breakdown never even pretends to show itself. In the end you're left feeling incomplete and questioning if the sweat, broken bones and moshing was even worth it.
Pretty long and boring, but good for family breakfast. 3
I like Neil Young
No more Joni Mitchell please.
Instant 5 Hmmm... Wait, nevermind this isn't Discovery. 4 Yea I remember why I never listen to this one. 2
This is fucked up I love it 3 "The Garden Of Early Delights" go hard. Unexpectedly good record! 4 A little longer than it needed to be.
3 Simple, pleasing folk music
The number 1 Oh wait number 2, Abbey Road beat it. I do like Tusk better honestly, but 5 nevertheless:)) 5
Hmmmm 4? That album cover is undoubtedly made in MS paint. 3 Uninteresting 2
Can't Am too hungover Will rate based on cover Solid 2 The most listenable of all wu-tang members
Heard so much good about this one Hmmm I expected indierock for some reason. Wth. This is boring af "Roads" kind of turns it around though. Yeea the strings are so needed on the other tracks. 3 That and "Glorybox" were the only good songs.
Not bad at all. But not much happens. 2 Holy shit "Hard To Handle" is so iconic, didn't realize it was their song. 3 It holds up
Finally somehow a different rock sound. 4 3 "Mildred Pierce" is really surprisingly good
2 A weird record, but not that bad Why the hell they just start yodeling out of a sudden
This is crazy Weirdly enough, the 20 minute titletrack is the worst part of this album.
The best album of Nick Drake actually. Super good. 4 It takes some listens. But it just gets me idk.
A great introduction to Thin Lizzy 3 Only half of it is availible on spotify tho. But that half is pretty great so whatever. 4
Punk is still the worst. The music absolutely blows, but I like the theme in this one; "I wish I could die." 1 And "fuck christianity." It just gets better.
NO MORE ELVIS COSTELLO!!PLEASE! Hmmm 4 Oh there is the Jailhouse Rock ripoff "Mystery Dance" 3
Just give me "Imagine" and "Oh Yoko" then I'm set. Legendary album.
5, probably the most vanilla and smooth radiohead album. Not quite a 5 I just love seeing it. Also Fake Plastic Trees
It's like she's talking to a friend she met at the grocery she haven't seen for years and has to tell all these stories really fast, and then just pretends like she's singing, while the music just tries to follow her words without ever stopping or thinking or doing anything other than just go up and down to match her stupid voice. I'm so tired of Joni Mitchell and I do not get the hype in the least.
Sounds pretty stupid, but it's not that bad. 3 2
You wouldn't download a car 1 2
Weirdly good I take it back This sucks so much 2
Easily digestible 3 Ramones if their music was actually exciting also the opposite of dark But some of this really slaps, even though it's so cute. godammit why do i like this
Probably 4 3 Aaaa thats the mr. Postman reference
So boring The drum solo in "What I'd Say" is so out of place.
2 "No Sympathy" caught me off-guard
this fucking blows I like "Lost" and "What To Do" The style of shitty music really benefits those specific songs. I kinda like it. 1
PJ Harvey also does not deserve this many place on this list. 2 This ass 1
Been craving some Dream Theater So close to a 5 But there's so much stupid bullshit Fuck it 5
Aged like milk 2 I hate this kind of music Wait... "Skin" is nostalgic af. Reminds me of Spectrobes. That game didn't age well either, but I still love it so much. "Frozen" Ok this is pretty ok. 3 Music like this from the late 90s and early 2000s has such a repulsive and disusgting feel to it that I can't put my finger on. Somehow, just, ew.
Eh. He's good on the new Gorillaz album. Idk abot this one though. 2
This fucking sucks 1 "Slow Love" is the only song that's not ass
Took the worst parts of country and married it with punk I could not think of anything worse than this. 1
This is ass. No wait, ass is good. This is the opposite of that. 1
Even more experimental and weird than I'd thought. 3
Very enjoyable 4 But that it's in any way considered related to metal is hard to believe 3 2
Rockefeller Skank was a banger in just dance. You won't forget you're listening to Fatboy Slim. 3
Kinda shit Reminds me a liiiiitle too much of Talking Heads to be enjoyable. 2
A bit boring as a standalone album 2 1 Ok it picks up 3
