Though I'll probably never be a big fan of Dylan's by now, the twangy country is actually a touch I enjoyed more than I usually do. I like Dylan's more unhinged vocals on Tangled Up In Blue compared to the other material I've heard from him, but the signature vocal inflections do grow a little tiring the further you get into the album. I won't be returning to it, but it was enjoyable enough.

None of this is particularly interesting. Dylan's singing is toned down from the incredibly overwrought inflections he had a decade earlier, but his phrasing still feels really odd at times. Not a fan of the more country-esque twang that permeates a lot of these songs The songs all sound kind of the same. Not bad, I would listen to this if someone put it on, but I won't go looking to listen to it myself again.

The production is shockingly massive, and really helps to make Dylan sound as empty as he must have felt at the time. That’s a good and a notsogood thing, since I also feel like this makes the songs here not have the same punch as most of his 60’s classics. It’s very good, but I don’t think it’ll ever be my favorite album, either of Dylan’s or for breakups on the whole. Still gotta be a B+, maybe an A- on another day.

Tangled up in Blue is decent. So is Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts, though it kind of reminds me of the awkward studio recording scene from the movie Inside Llewyn Davis. The rest is just fine, so overall the album is a solid meh/5.

Yeah idk, I definitely have to be in a specific mindset to really get into Dylan. That being said, I think this is pretty good and fairly easy to sink into. There’s a “mature” and less rockin’ feel to this album, which makes for some interesting sonic developments, most of which make me think this’d be nice to toss on and sip coffee to on a Saturday morning. There’s a few long songs on here which kinda drag, but generally I can roll with this. 3/5

Iconic sound with a classic 70s feel. Not a huge bob dylan fan, but found this album to be “good enough”. Didn’t notice any classic bon dylan songs on it specifically that were worth pointing out, but found that the beginning of the album was better than the end.

liked it a lot more than the live bootleg we heard. That being said, I think only half the songs were all that good. Another thing I noticed was that the longest songs were also the ones with the least going on. What's that about, Bob? 3/5
