Cracking album, one of the best of 2019. I probably marginally prefer his second album, Love & Hate, but that doesn’t detract from this one in any way, shape or form.
Reminiscent of Gorillaz and early 60s James Bond intros. Little too laid back and easy to tune out.
Really wanted to like this based on everyones comments, gave it a few spins this weekend but it just couldn't find an emotional connection to it. 2/5
I really liked the Michael Kiwanuka album as well, I'd heard of him for a long time but I don't think I've ever listened to him before. 4/5.
What a delightfully lovely album! I am glad to have listened to this today. 4 / 5 stars.
My favorite album of 2019. It is a masterclass of progressive R&B. It recalls the past and paves a way forward.
