Brilliant Corners
Thelonious Monk

What did I learn today - bebop jazz (or any of its subgenres) is not as repulsive as avant-garde jazz, at least for my small mind, but is still very hard to listen to. I am sure that Thelonious Monk is a great pianist and song writer, but we have to operate at a completely different wavelength (as are every band members). Brilliant Corners may as well be renamed to Thousand Sharp And Edgy Corners, because that is how I felt trying to comprehend this album. Maybe one day I'll try again, but for sure this is not the one.
