this may be the first album i've recognized, and also know there's a song on here i've heard before. that is to say, this is gonna be a great time. i'll be talking about the 1982 version (original studio recording), not the 1995 reissue, nor the 1998 remaster, nor the 2015 remaster, nor the 2022 anniversary release. expect vibes, ye who enter here. track 1, Invaders: starting off with strong and fast energy, 8.5/10 track 2, Children of the Damned: a little repetitive, but still good. 7/10 track 3, The Prisoner: the guitar-only section goes on a little long for my tastes but still a good song. 7.5/10 track 4, 22 Acacia Avenue: the faster and slower sections help to avoid there being any particular part of the song that's too long, 8/10 SIDE TWO track 5, The Number of the Beast: aw yeah, here it is, and the titular track as well! i remember playing this song countless times in Guitar Hero and it's still good. 10/10 track 6, Run to the Hills: another great song i recognize, i believe this one was also in guitar hero. holds up amazingly. 9.5/10 track 7, Gangland: nice and fast the whole time, nothing really to say. 8/10 track 8, Hallowed Be Thy Name: also fast, good energy, 8/10 overall: 8.3/10 -> 4/5 while most of the album isn't particularly memorable to me, all of these songs are good or better. definitely worth the listen, and especially for Number of the Beast and Run to the Hills
