A Night At The Opera
Queen

Bombastic and delightful from the first notes. The highlight of the first half is You're My Best Friend, but the poignant '39 is almost as good. Lots of heavier moments too on I'm In Love With My Car and especially Sweet Lady with its crunchy riffs. Seaside Rendezvous closes the side on a catchy ragtime note. The Prophet's Song takes us back to hard rock with progressive leanings. Powerful start to side two. The lengthy a capella harmonies eventually give way to the heavy guitar again and it blends into Love Of My Life, a mostly acoustic and piano intermezzo that also features a harp (!). The quirky, jazzy sounding Good Company then sets up Bohemian Rhapsody. It's a microcosm of the whole album and a hell of a climax. Iconic stuff.
