Back in the ’90s, when I was a teenager, I casually bought into the whole Blur vs. Oasis rivalry and firmly planted myself in the Blur camp. That said, I still have vivid memories of listening to Don't Look Back in Anger during a Year 6 residential trip to the Isle of Wight - it’s a song that’s steeped in nostalgia for me even now. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate Oasis much more, and this record is a perfect example of why. It captures a band at the peak of their powers - brimming with creativity, stepping into the studio with clear intent, and pouring everything they had into it. The result is a collection of unforgettable tracks, elevated by outstanding production. It absolutely delivers. Favourite tracks: there's not a duff track on here, but Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger and Some Might Say stand out the most for me.
