Out of Step by Minor Threat
Sep 14 2020

I found this to be a unique eye-opener to the world of punk rock music. The sound is completely out of my own range of music interests, however I enjoyed the record, and felt that the short length (23 minutes) made up for a cohesive body of work. While it's not something I would personally listen to, I enjoyed listening and reading about how this album has become such a landmark within its genre.

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Sep 15 2020

On first listen this didn’t massively stick out to me. I enjoyed the sound of some of the songs and the new wave elements. I think I was slightly lost by the album being a compilation and therefore would prefer the opportunity to check out albums to get a more cohesive feel of the band’s work.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Sep 16 2020

I really enjoyed this album. My knowledge of RHCP was fairly limited, knowing some of the bigger hits including the lead track “Californication” and it’s video. This was a good opportunity to explore the band’s music to more depth- and hear the more spiritual and melodic sound which critics spoke of.

Sep 17 2020

I found this album to be a really fascinating listen. I'd never heard of Tortoise so didn't know what to expect, but the album was completely different to my prior expectations. The completely instrumental album was really captivating to listen to, particularly the opening track - 20 minutes long, which explored so many unique sounds. A really fascinating listen.

Fifth Dimension by The Byrds
Sep 18 2020

I was interested by this album and how it seemed to really represent the era of '60s, psychedelic rock. While it's perhaps not one I would listen to again, I enjoyed getting to explore this sound and thought it was a good listen to gather more of an understanding on it.

Sep 21 2020

I enjoyed listening to this album. While I've not always been a fan of Kanye, I think it's one of his best pieces. "Runaway" is probably my favorite track of his and particularly a bright spot on the album.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Sep 22 2020

I enjoyed this album and it was a good way to explore McCartney's music as prior to this I only really was aware of his work with The Beatles, bar a few tracks. Let Me Roll It was my favorite of the tracks.

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
Sep 23 2020

I enjoyed the album, and having only known a bit about Finley Quaye it was great to hear his sound in what seems to be the highlight of his career. Some of the songs I had recognized prior and enjoyed, but overall I think it was a good mix. There were a couple of songs I wasn't as invested in hence the 3*.

The Pleasure Principle by Gary Numan
Sep 24 2020

Not particularly an album that I would gravitate to however it was an interesting listen. For me, I didn't particularly pick up on too many stand-outs although "Cars" is an excellent song which seems to be Numan's most well-known.
