In A Silent Way
Miles Davis
guitar, rhodes, upright, organ, drums & trumpet.
Lots of breathing room. Not dominated by Miles. Extreme panning as was popular back then.
Drummer seems hooked on the 16th hihats.. gives a kind of Lalo Schiffrin Dirty Harry feel.
My favourite parts are probably on the 2nd track where the band breaks down into an almost ambient vibe.

Not my bag.
This is basically easy-listening for old stoners.
Musically, it is one step above the music-man playing covers on an all-in-one Yamaha keyboard in your local mall. Production is high (pun intended), with backing strings and horns and the annoying harmonica guy leaning against the back wall.
There are many covers on the album, the title track is a cover.. lame.

I just can't do it. Sorry Tracy..
The songs that you passionately crafted all those years ago were hijacked by top 40 radio and stuffed into our ears until our cerebral cortex resonated at the same frequency as your warbly tones.
This is what happens when you weaponise folk music. Disarmed by relentless repetition.

For me, this album fits right into the category 'Not offensive but not really interesting'.
I know this kind of blues songwriter thing is really deep for some people and it is my failing that I don't know the genre well enough to be moved by it.

As you would expect from The King.
He blew the doors wide open with a wink and a wiggle.
