This album is better when played as a whole rather than as several disconnected singles. It is clear that this record was meant to evoke a visceral response in the listener. From the opener, Serve the Servants to the closer All Apologies this record is meant for movement but is at it's heart disturbing emotionally.

Honestly didn't really enjoy this. It hasn't aged well and it is certainly note memorable or remarkable. In fact, as I am writing this my memories of having heard this album are fading....

If Jeffrey Lee Pierce made a folk record this would be it. Some interesting tracks but more of a background adventure. Jeff's tone is very similar to JLP's so connected with that quality.

okay...it's jazz. Not my cup of tea. I did listen to the entire record and was impressed with the orchestration and quality of the recording for the time period. Great sound on this album. A few interesting portions.

A record for which I am very familiar given the number of singles released. I had never listened to it completely or in running order. Somehow it all works magnificently. Meg's drumming actually accents the sound on this record giving it just enough garage with the simple pounding beat. Like a clock.
