Generic indie rock. Might be good for its genre but no sympathy from me for the genre. Sounds Beach Boys-ish at some point.

Hated MJ as a kid, thought I'd give him a try now, but no change, could not even listen to the full album.
Bit boring on album level, but likeable songs anyway, nice melancholic vibe.
I remember it was quite a big deal back then. Gospel samples. Electro. Listened to it a lot. Now, after 20+ years the shine has faded. Would Play be released now, I'd find it kind of mediocre.
Insufferable.

I'm not really into this genre, but this album was perfectly OK, not annoying, good listening.
