Is This It
The StrokesLove it! Definitely a classic alternative album of the early 2000s, and with their very distinctive sound

I love this album. First heard Pablo Picasso on college radio 10ish years ago and immediately thought - "What is this??" Since then, the album has become a favorite - love all of the Boston references, storytelling, etc. Favorite songs are Pablo Picasso, Hospital, I Wanna Sleep in Your Arms, Old World (but really love all of them)
Solid album - 3.5; particularly enjoyed the second half, but still prefer Surfer Rosa
Solid album, particularly enjoyed the second half. Still prefer Surfer Rosa, but would be interested in giving this album additional listens.
Very funky -- really enjoyed, despite not having listened to much music in the genre before
Very 60's. Favorites were This Will Be Our Year and Time of the Season
Solid album--would probably improve upon re-listening
Solid album, though I don't have a lot of knowledge of the genre. Will likely revisit
I really enjoyed this album--clearly I should look at more classics of the shoegaze sub-genre
A definite classic
A true classic + unique and experimental for the time
A couple classics, but would probably require additional listens to grow on me
Great album, even if depressing (pretty standard for Elliott Smith)
Definitely a classic album, but not really my thing
While I normally love Wilco, and this is a solid album, it's a bit too country for my preferences
This perfectly matched my mood for Wednesday. Particularly liked Schizophrenia, and the overall noisiness / experimentalism of the album
Beautiful album from a band I'd never heard of before. Absolutely get the connection to Joy Division. Elegia and Sub-Culture were particular favorites
Classic album! Many great songs - Pennies from Heaven, I've Got You Under My Skin, etc.
This album definitely sounds ahead of its time, but is not something I can see myself returning to/seeking out for future listens.
This sounded pretty generic to me - basically elevator music
Great, unusual album. The title song Blackstar is my favorite.
Classic Beck. Solid album that would probably improve upon repeat listening
Technically a very well-made album, but just doesn't do much for me
Would probably benefit from repeat listens. Not exactly my cup of tea at the moment.
This didn't do anything for me at all. Probably a product of its time.
Decent - would probably benefit from further listens

One of my top 5 favorite bands, and second favorite of their albums. No good words to describe it, but the storytelling + the music are excellent
Really enjoyed this one, particularly I Wanna Be Your Dog. Not sure how I've never listened to this album before, considering the similarities to the Velvet Underground
