1001 Albums Summary

Classic early Elvis with mostly blues and rock and roll covers. Blue Moon is probably the best song of the album, it has a dreamy and mysterious vibe, being the others just catchy and basic rock and roll hits for the dancefloor. The originals, especially the ones from Little Richard and Carl Perkins, are better. I prefer their voices over Elvis's, which I appreciate more on ballads.

Blues meets garage rock. I've always found old school blues to be cliché and predictable. I have the feeling I've heard the same chord progressions, rhythms and singing phrases way too many times. I liked the first song, Everlasting Light, and Howlin' For You is a good hit I've heard in many commercials. Works as a background.

This is more like my kind of sound. I still don't feel it completely. I can only remember Bullet With Butterfly Winds, which I really like. I should listen to them again: I think I can find interesting stuff from these guys.
