Bodysnatchers - classic Radiohead track. Like something from the early era. Turn it up! All I Need - moody electro and unsettling lyrics carry this track to it’s perfect crescendo. Jigsaw Falling Into Place - I was close to awarding a stand out to the track before, House of Cards for its attempt at a striped back track. Then JFIP hits with the perfect balance of simplicity and production. One of the best tracks outside of the powerhouse duo up front. Videotape - Play is out boys, play us out No misses to note what a phenomenal album.

Listening conditions - home theatre, pretty distracted. Albums First Rodeo? - Yep, but listened to Paul Simon before. Stand out tracks Armistice Day - yeah here we go this is good. Like the blues vibe here. Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard - This is fun! Not much here, a few decent tracks that would no doubt make up a pretty solid greatest hits complication.

Listening conditions - home theatre, a little bit distracted but with Smashing Pumpkin’s further reading. Albums First Rodeo? - i don’t think so. Stand out tracks Cherub Rock - Banger what a great opener. Today - Ionic Smashing Pumpkins, still holds up as an anthem today. An era and genre defining track. Silverfuck - Yeah that’s a great journey. Miss Soma - dull and long, nothing special and following Disarm (which is a very close contender for a stand out track) just really puts this track into bad light. It’s a good album and I try not to listen with hindsight but that can be hard and honestly apart from the singles there’s not much here and I can’t help but think their next album (Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness) is what will always define the band and what they were trying to pull off here. Note this album really picks up again towards the end, looking at you Luna.
