I really loved this. It had elements of minimalism, with long sustained ostinatos, almost droning. The tempo and meter shifts were surprising. For a jazz album, there weren't as many solos as I would expect, but they were interesting.
There were some nice solos, but the lyrics took me out of it. The sound is nice, but it gets monotonous. Reeling In the Years is one of my least favorite songs of all time, so that takes off a whole star.
This is without a doubt great playing, but I wasn't thrilled by it. I respect it, especially for being recorded in 1961, but I probably won't relisten.

I had never heard of Elastica, but it's going to be in my rotation. It was just before my time enough that I'm not surprised I missed it, but so many things I love are clearly inheritors of this sound.
I enjoyed this album, but I feel like it could've been five songs shorter. The repetitiveness was nice in the first half, creating a hazy, timeless effect through each song, but by the end of the album it all just started to sound the same.
