1001 Albums Summary

Metallica have always been the one thrash band I can stand, and this album is a perfect example of their sound. A treat for my first album, but not quite that perfect 5 for me. Enter Sandman is a great song, but one that even I have personally overplayed at this point. Reminds me a lot of the first Rock Band game. If I had to pick a favourite song, I'd struggle between The Unforgiven and Nothing Else Matters.

There wasn't a lot here for me. It wasn't offensive, but nothing really stuck out as massively good. Best song on there for me was mostly likely There Is A Kingdom. I'm glad to have gotten this album, as I now know who sang the Peaky Blinders opening.

If every song was as good as Black Magic Woman and Oye Como Va, then this would still probably only manage a 3.

FIGHT THE POWER

Sexy Boy reminded me of every film from 20 years ago. Everything else served as good background music. Nothing much to return to here.

I'd rather be listening to The Doors at this point. Half of this album was the title track. The Mars Volta all of a sudden seem less special. Can I have an album from this millenium soon please?

Sounds like Greta Van Fleet... Great album! First one I've truly enjoyed since my first generated album.

I've always wanted to like jazz but never really known where to start. Turns out this was it. I like jazz now.

Proper classic Christmas tunes. Brought us back from not feeling very Christmassy!
