Odelay by Beck
Dec 28 2021

It was fine. A few hits that I remembered from the past and radio replay surrounded by songs that I didn't remember / never heard. A few songs I'd hear again. But the whole album was too diverse for me to listen to the whole thing again. Devil's Haircut was a good starter.

Solid Air by John Martyn
Dec 29 2021

Never heard of John Martyn before. Nice relaxing folk album, great for a quiet night. This is going on my replay list.

In It For The Money by Supergrass
Dec 30 2021

Above average entertaining. Wouldn't listen to the whole album again. Put some of the songs on my favorites to repeat.

Queen Of Denmark by John Grant
Dec 31 2021

Never heard of John Grant before. lyrics more entertaining than expected, i.e. Sigourney weaver Spotify lyrics mode is making this album better b/c usually it's hard to hear lyrics. this is getting funny, JC Hates Faggots. Songs might wear out with novelty though. Not sure if it'll be in my permanent rotation. Getting better with each listen, growing on me.

Rio by Duran Duran
Jan 03 2022

Classic album with multiple favorites already on my list. The lyrics on the favorites make less sense when you read them. Seems to be more about the catchy / familiar rhythm. Hungry like the wolf is fun on Rock Band (drums). The main tracks will stay in regular rotation.

Dry by PJ Harvey
Jan 04 2022

Gahh, can't even finish this album the first time through it. The voice is too quiet relative to the music, requires concentrating too much and hard to hear what she's saying. If you don't know what she's saying the backing music isn't enough to carry the song/album on it's own. 2nd attempt with Spotify Lyrics. Sheela-Na-gig : better once I understand what she's saying. Dress: same. Much better now that I know what she's saying. Still, not going to be my favorite album. I'll put a few songs in my favorites at least.

The Rise & Fall by Madness
Jan 06 2022

Can't really rate. Most of the songs aren't available on spotify. Due to region lock I guess? Our House is a good nostalgia song

The Specials by The Specials
Jan 07 2022

Haven't heard of The Specials before. I get the concept. It's British Ska, but what they're singing about seems so dated now that I can't make a good connection. I'm not a teenager hungering for freedom in 70's Britain. So, not for me.

Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Jan 10 2022

Don't know this album at all. My primary experience with Leonard Cohen is his overplayed Hallelujah which I run from screaming at this point. Hmm, even with the lyrics, some of the songs are hard to understand the story / concept he's trying to get across. Seems like you'd need several listens and maybe even some outside information to finish solving the puzzle.

Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear
Jan 11 2022

I can see why it's popular in Jamaica. I don't have the cultural background to appreciate the lyrics as much. Who's Marcus Garvey? The music is good enough, but there's plenty of other reggae to choose from.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Jan 12 2022

I know Bruce's classics, but haven't heard anything on this album before. Not a lot of happy songs. Have to listen to this album a few more times to see if it'll be on the permanent list.

Jan 13 2022

Moderately interesting, felt more like background rock music you'd hear at a bar to set an atmosphere but wouldn't really listen to.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Jan 14 2022

Haven't done any focused listening to much jazz. Have a friend in a local college jazz band and I feel like jazz is more fun to see in person. I could listen to this album several times. Added to my favorite list.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Jan 18 2022

First time I've really listened to any Kanye songs. There's a couple that feel a little dated, but I can see why he became so popular if this was his debut album. Added it to my library, glad I came across it.

Berlin by Lou Reed
Jan 20 2022

Got bored. These songs aren't for me.

GI by Germs
Apr 06 2022

I'm just not into punk.

Alien Lanes by Guided By Voices
Apr 07 2022

Ehh, not for me.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
