Wanted to appreciate this more but at the end of the day it wasn’t for me. Even tried to give it a second chance and couldn’t really get past part I. Undeniably impressive skill and talent especially given circumstances, but I couldn’t personally enjoy it.
Got more into it after a few listens. The Forest is a tune. Like the mood of the overall album, but probably not one I would come back and listen to that regularly. 3/5
First listen: started well but dropped off a bit. Started at 3/5, finished at 2/5, may give it another listen or two to see how it changes over time. Like: general vibe, being anti-Tory Dislike: a bit samey towards the end
First listen: That's Entertainment probably saves this from being a one. Maybe just unlucky with successive 80's UK punk/post-punk/mod rock/whatever but I've not really been enjoying these. 2/5
First listening: Finally something a bit more interesting! What an opening track. Maybe doesn't quite reach the same heights again for the rest of the album, but this definitely feels like one I could get into more on further listenings. 3/5 for now. Interested in listening more of Primal Scream as well, as I haven't much before. One of the first albums on here that's actually got me interested in the artist. Second listen: 4/5 - really enjoyed that. Great new discovery.
2/5. Enjoyed the title track but a bit bored by the rest. I agree with that review: the music died on track 1 and didn't come back for the rest of the album :D
Don't know why I find music from this era so boring, but it really is. 2/5
Don't get it - why is this Englishman doing American rocknroll cosplay? Why is every song the same and completely forgettable? Why are there apparently multiple albums by this guy on the list? Definitely not an album I'm be reflecting back on being glad I'd heard, listening to it actually made me angry at how boring it was! 1/5 - I can see how some people may enjoy this - but I never want to hear it again.
I enjoyed it - but don't need to listen to it again.
