Madman Across The Water
Elton JohnA bunch of random stories, album wasn't cohesive. A lot of songs sounded the same. Ghetto Gospel sampled Indian Summer Favorite songs - Tiny Dancer, Levon

Interesting mixing, echos make it sound live Feels like an open jam Every band member shined, keyboard and drums were just as good as the guitar Favorite songs - Rainy Day, Dream Away & All along the watchtower
Almost no hooks in any song. The songs with no vocals were a good way to break up the songs of straight rappin. Forgot how good the Beastie Boys timing was. The synergy between the group is something you don't see anymore, most artists are just individuals waiting for the others part to be over so they can go. Favorite songs - Get it together, Futterman's rule, Alright hear this
Felt like a Toy Story soundtrack. Great tamber to his voice. Favorite songs - All of Me, Georgia on my mind (Remix)

Production stood out on this one, Dre developed that classic whistle synth so well that you immediately know it's him when the beat starts. Back then artists really were ride or die for the label. Snoop laid down so many iconic rhymes on this album that he took into Doggystyle the next year. So this album essentially set Snoop up to drop one of the most legendary hip hop albums of all time. Favorite songs - Nuthin but a G Thang, Stranded on Death Row, Bitches Ain't Shit
She does thing weird thing where she doesn't resolve the harmony on the note where you'd expect it to resolve. Sounds like a deceptive cadence, it's experimental and I don't like it. At it wasn't on Spotify so minus 1 star. Favorite song - The hissing of Summer Lawns
Every chorus was them repeating the name of the song over and over again. Like a shitty British version of Jet. Stopped 3/4 of the way through the album. Favorite song - L.A.
Extremely introspective album, you can definitely telling he had a lot of regrets in his life, with relationships and addiction. I liked the simple but diverse amount of percussion in this album. I also really liked cutting the music and the heavy breathing at the end, cause he just got so much off his chest and probably feels exhausted and relieved.
I really hope we get the extended version of Autobahn. The spatial engineering on this was very interesting, even in my car sound was traveling from one side to the other, up close and far away. It would've probably been great in headphones. They were definitely trying to contact some extra terrestrials on their HAM radio. Favorite song - Mitternacht
Organ player is great, I'd argue he defines The Doors just as much as Jim Morrison does. Never was really a big fan of The Doors Favorite Song - Soul Kitchen
This album screams Boston. A lot of energy even in the slower songs. Favorite song - Fisherman's Blues
I liked the mix of acoustic and electric guitar. At times it seemed like the bass, guitar and drums were playing different genres. Favorite songs - I don't believe in you, Life's what you make it
I liked the contrast between the soft soothing voice and the shredding guitar. Favorite songs - Mr soul, Bluebird, Good time boy
Beginning of the album felt like some quintessential 90s rock, later felt like their own genre. Love the breakdown in Sun Hits The Sky. A ton of instruments (I even thought I heard a sitar in Sometimes I Make You Sad). Would've given it 4 stars but the mixing made it hard to hear the vocals. Favorite Songs - In It For The Money, Hollow Little Reign
Classic pop punk defining album. A lot of relatable things in here about anxiety, jealousy, confusion, loneliness. Same song structure used throughout the entire album, and the songs sound very similar. Favorite songs - Welcome to Paradise, Basket Case
The production was great on this, the drums, the timing. I like how he changes tempo so suddenly and it still works, goes half time, double time. The craziest part about this album was that it felt like it could've just been released, it must have been way ahead of its time. I hear this album's influence in a lot of EDM artists (Skrillex, Don Diablo, Griz, Bassnectar). Favorite songs - Rockefeller Skank, Gangster Trippin, Build it up Tear it Down, You're Not From Brighton
A lot of heavy topics here. Harmonizing with guitars is something so simple but so impactful. All I was thinking about is how exhausted I'd be performing this live. Favorite songs - Battery, Disposable Heroes
Great mix of heavier rock, light acoustic and even a groovy jam. Loved incorporating the turntables scratching. Favorite songs - Battlestar Scralactchtica, Drive, Pardon Me
This album makes you feel free. Good example of how the front man is nothing without a good band around him. Favorite songs - Meeting Across the River, Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out
