Absolutely loved this album. It's so funky. Stevie Wonder is obviously a legend but I had never sat down and listened to an album of his all the way through, and I'm really glad that I did. There are some obvious favorites like Sir Duke and Isn't she lovely, but some of the lesser known songs on the album like I Wish, Ordinary Pain, Another Star, and All Day Sucker are real gems as well.
Sick guitar solos but some of the lyrics were really really weird. Would listen to again.
One of the greatest albums of all time and one of my personal favorites. I still listen to this one very frequently. Insanely good.
yuuuuuuuge fan of this album that i had never heard of before. Likely going into the rotation for many of the songs. i worry a bit that these songs won't be as good on shuffle as they were on the album, but that's how it be sometimes.
There were a couple of absolute bangers (disarm, cherub rock) but the rest of the album didn't really capture me all that much. Some songs are definitely in the rotation already/going into the rotation after this, but some are very forgettable.
I really liked the few Janis Joplin songs that I new, but never went out of my way to listen to her band. I really liked this album as a unit. It was really enjoyable to listen to and scratches that classic psychedelic rock itch very well. No one who has ever lived has had a voice quite like Janis Joplin's.
The White Stripes are so weird, and I love that. This album had a lot of songs that were very fun to listen to, and several that will make it to my playlist. If I weren't listening to so much new music rn I would probably listen to a few other white stripes albums.
I really liked this album! there's the one super famous song, but the lesser known ones were really good too.
I'm a huge fan of this album! It's such a delightfully weird blend of country/rock/funk. Kingpin is an obvious highlight, but there are a lot of great songs sprinkled throughout. One to come back to, for sure.
omg i'm such a huge fan of this album. I had never heard of this band before, but they are very up my alley.
The jazzy instruments on this album go so insanely hard. Marvin Gaye's voice is legendary and beautiful. Sparrow is a standout for me - the guy on the sax is absolutely popping off. If I didn't already know I was bi this album might have me thinkin. I thought the song where he complained about attorney fees was a little bit out of touch.
I half-listened to this, and liked the parts that I actually got through
banger and a half. listened to this after listening to the worst album i've ever heard. good choice.
goated. absolute classic. one of my favorite albums of all time by my favorite artist of all time. 0 flaws.
really underwhelmed by this one to be honest. one or two really nice songs but mostly not that great
Classic. Filled with bangers. Crazy good.
