I work in Accounts Receivable. That’s not exciting. I don’t hate it, there’s just nothing really sexy about nagging clients about money they owe, or asking when they can give the next money, or why they paid $1,590.00 on an invoice when the invoice was $1,600.00 for only you to realize your bank sometimes charges a $10.00 wire fee for overseas charges. Anyway, I listened to this album while I was doing the tedious task of taking notes on our latest aging report while listening to The (fucking) Prodigy’s Music for a Jilted Generation! There’s no (fucking) nor ! in The Prodigy’s band name, but it felt right. Under the wrong circumstances, electronic music can also seem tedious and pointless, like updating an aging report for an accounts receivable job. But when I zoned back in to The Prodigy’s music, I wasn’t just doing my AR job, I was doing my AR job in the Matrix! I was logging which clients needed a follow up message and which clients need to be send to our collection lawyers to save Morpheus with Trinity! I was Run Lola Run! Doing running (I honestly saw Run Lola Run a long time ago on a DVD I own and don’t recall the plot specifically but I remember running and electronic music). I don’t know who is jilted in this generation but I have to imagine The Prodigy is going to unjilt you by the end of this album
