This Is Hardcore
PulpLike the singles A Little Soul and Help the Aged. Not overly fussed by the rest of it, though some of the melodies are good. Though quite like I'm a Man.

Not the kind of thing that I usually listen to, but I really enjoyed this album.
I was pleasantly surprised by this. I was expecting it to be quite hit and miss, but really liked all of it!
I enjoyed this - had it on in the background whilst doing some work. Definitely outside of what I usually listen to!
Not as bad as I thought it was going to be (not usually a fan of 50s jazz of this sort, but maybe I've made too quick a judgement!) and I may well explore more. And I really like the album cover.
Opens with three really strong tracks (i.e. the singles) and then tails off a bit. Good album, but not as good as I was hoping. Did like Red Hill Mining Town though.
I've always found Bowie a bit hit and miss, and I found this a bit patchy. Wouldn't turn it on, wouldn't turn it off.
I enjoyed this - not heard anything from The Fall before and will explore more.
Wasn't a fan of the especially shouty songs, but generally not as bad as I thought it might have been. Was sometimes difficult to tell where one tune ended and another began. Not really my thing.
One of my favourite New Order albums - love Subculture and Elegia and Face Up
Love this album - especially Doledrum.
I didn't really understand the fuss about Badly Drawn Boy in the 1990s, and I still don't. The standout track for me was Another Pearl. Disillusion wasn't bad - I seem to remember it being a single. It's not that it's bad, it just doesn't provoke a reaction from me either way.
I can appreciate their talent, but not really my thing. Wouldn't turn it off, but wouldn't turn it on either.
Lovely tunes disguising acerbic social commentary. Fabulous
Love most of the stuff on this album - plus it has Man in the Cornershop on it, which is my favourite Jam song
Not really listened to the Cocteau Twins before - although Lorelei must have popped on Spotify as I'd liked it. This was a lovely album to listen to - really dreamy. Loved everything about it.
I'd forgotten how angsty and angry this album was. Loved this as a teenager. Love Right Through You, You Learn and Head Over Feet. Thought for a short time that Ironic was the most ironic song ever as none of the things in it are actually ironic, but it turns out that AM thought those things were ironic, thus cancelling out the irony...
Fantastic album - pretty much everything could have been a single...
Never would have listened to this normally, but I really enjoyed this. Nice background music.
Really enjoyed this - especially Isi, E-Musik and After Eight. Lovely to have on in the background too - a bit like Autobahn.
Never have managed to get into Bjork - but I really liked this, so maybe I'll give her another go too. Really liked Motorcrash, Delicious Demon and Coldsweat. Not so keen on Birthday - it's a bit shouty (which is fine, just not for me!)
Liked this a lot - though hard to follow up all of the really strong singles at the start of the album! Nothing felt like filler though.
Some of the rockier ones were okay. Really not a fan of the ballads, and I thought his version of Blue Moon was really not very good. As the Beatles had covered a number of these tunes and done them much better, I was left with the creeping feeling that Elvis is really overrated.
I wanted to like this more than I did - it has some cracking tunes on it (VGPS, Johnny Thunder, Starstruck among others) I just wanted it to be slightly better - that's hype for you, I guess, always going to be slightly disappointed! Definitely adding it to my playlist though.
Loved this album from start to finish. How have I never heard this before? Not a duff track to be heard. I think this will quickly become a favourite!
