As much as I tried I couldn’t get over my painful memories of a friend making fun of me for listening to Radiohead and saying they sound like Coldplay. Is this fair to coldplay? No, of course not but you know when you get really sick from eating something and then can’t eat it ever again? It’s sorta like that. Like one time I got food poisoning from butternut squash and now just the smell of it makes me nauseous. Coldplay is my butternut squash of bands
I haven’t participated in this as much as others but this is the first album that I actually really liked. The amount emotion in Joplins voice is palpable. It’s impossible to not be moved by it. She’s one of the best rock singers ever and this album exemplifies it.

Meh, I don’t really get the hype
A perfect album. I know I’m labeled as the G n R guy but that’s mainly cause I don’t think they get the respect they deserve. They get grouped in with hair bands like Poison or Motley Crue and G n R are soooo much better than those bands. They have more edge. They’re not as cheesy. They’re songs are about the seedy underselling of the glam of Hollywood. The temptations of glitz. Whereas other bands promote the glamorous lifestyle of LA, Guns N’ Roses talks about the starlets that don’t make it. The lifestyle they endure. The eventual end of pursuing sex drugs and rock and roll. They’re almost an anti hair band. Not only is the subject a refreshing take on the sunset strip but they are also incredible musicians. Both Axl and slash are some of the best rockstars of all time. Both are included in any “best of” lists for their respective roles in the band. And this album is the ultimate celebration of their skills. Quite possibly the greatest first album ever released. This album is what the kids say is a “no-skips”. There is not one bad song on Appetite for Destruction. There are 12 songs on Appetite and half of em are absolute masterpieces, welcome to the jungle, night train, paradise city, sweet child of mine, rocket queen, Mr brownstone. This album is incredible
Radiohead?? Don’t think I’ve ever heard of them before. Definitely got some Billie Eilish vibes going on. Really dig it. Sounds like it’d be perfect for a bright sunny day in Monterey
Probably my favorite album of all time. OK Computer started running with song mechanics and then this album went all out with deconstruction. Songs end in jazz chaos, atmospheric electronic, the whole thing keeps you guessing. A masterpiece
