1001 Albums Summary

Well crafted Melodic Rock with incredible sound for its release date. But too clean for my taste. Missing Soul. Especially Guitars and Vocals. Organ Solos on Smokin'(!!!) and Hitch a Ride almost brought it up to a 4/5 for me. More Than a Feeling -> All Time classic. Wedding Playlist Material.

Dont like the vocals. Great growling Bass Sound though. Overall Sound kinda meh. Gets better in the second half of the album. Private Life and Brass Pocket are ok. But they are different to the overall sound of the album. The rest is more punkish.... and although punk was the music of my youth, this album does not work for me. It sounds to me like... they are pretending to be punk.

Not an album one can comprehend after one time listening. But I'm highly intrigued. Great Sounds, Great Singing, unconventional - therefore interesting - rhythems and song structures. 4/5 for me at the moment. With the potential to go up to a 5/5 after a couple of additional times listening to it.

One the the best 1001 albums? More like one of the best 1 albums. Can you imaging hearing this in 1968? Must have been the coolest music in existence. Ahead of its time.

Does not stand the test of time.
