I dug this one a lot for some reason. It’s got this earnest nerdy rock vibe to it that feels like a precursor to more modern stuff I like, like weezer, lcd soundsystem, the strokes. The songs are fun and energetic but also feel genuine and homespun and have a rebellious youth vibe to them. Allison is an all-timer, Welcome to the working week is a great opener, the stretch from blame it on Cain to mystery dance is pretty killer. I don't love watching the detectives as the closer but otherwise I like the album from top to bottom. Probably a strong 8 for me

Feels very very 80s. The synth on Jump is too crazy. Hot for teacher is a horny anthem. Top Jimmy - good song, would make for an even better nickname. Also Panama is pretty good

Gotta be honest this one was not really for me. I came to eventually appreciate the dark vibes and depraved lyrics but overall the vocals and instrumentals weren't really doing it for me. I will say I appreciated it more when I turned the volume up a few notches. Them Bones, Rooster, Dirt are good. Angry Chair is a funny song title. Feel like I need to develop a heroin addiction and drive around in a rusty car to really get into this album.
