1001 Albums Summary

Like Oasis, early 90s alt rock/pop sound. One notch psychedelic, apparently this is part of Shoegaze which is a genre I'm unfamiliar with. Both acustic guitar and electric. Single male vocalist. Maybe 5 or 6 out of 10, not unpleasant to continue listening to.

A bit gospel. Lyric rhyming quality rap. Pop/mainstream, but decent. On the better side of rap for me.

Raw. Energy. Spoken/Rap lyrics. Evolving songs (chords etc change as song goes on, elaborates), which isn't my favourite. Can be meandering. Has some classics, like Killing in the Name of and some songs I'd like to hear again.

Some Monkeys - early Beetles like Brit pop. Some songs a bit jovial and childish, some Indian-like. A few actual decent songs, like Sunny Afternoon.

Lots of their classics, decent.

Not really my genre, but novel. Fine for background listening while working, somewhat chill with a 90s dance music feel.

Upbeat for Smith, or at least energetic tunes.

Jazz with not my favourite instruments. Odd era.

A few classics. A bit raw, not as smooth as some of their other albums.

Folk rock, never folky enough to scratch that itch for me, nor rocky enough for the other. Have not listened to the whole album, but they could potentially have a good hybrid in there of the two, I just have not yet heard it.

Blues rock, some white funk. Not bad, not great. Doesn't hit any genre or style I hate.

Two solid songs, rest is general decent background to listen to. Take me to the river & big country.

Interesting. Some plunderphonics, trippy slow backtracks. Rap is some random words, some silliness (doodoo), sexual stuff.

Decent, funky

Chill wordless music, not overly complex. Was good for listening to in rainy walk.
