Ha! How do you review an album that has had so much written about it before? What a voice! Really, I think Aretha could sing the Yellow Pages and make you feel it. It's the first time I have sat down and listened to this album in its entirety. There are so many well known songs on here, it's hard to believe that this is a single studio album and not some kind of early greatest hits. 5/5 (what else could it be)
Sounds exactly like its time - mid 90s. Reminds me of Goldhawk Road, bongs and the Shepherd's Bush Empire.
Such a distinctive voice - easy listening. I've always loved 'Love and Affection' and listened to it a lot in my early teens. Some definite 'album songs' on here, though. 2.5/5
Would be good if pissed out of your head and full of speed. Sober, it is just noise!
