Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs
Derek & The Dominos
I was familiar with the story surrounding this album but never listened to the full album before.
The album starts off with a song with a rather country like sound.
But with the start of the 2nd song the albums shifts gears into a full blues rock album.
My favorite song is the 3rd song, Keep On Growing.
From the first few seconds of the start of the song I could already tell i was gonna like this song.
Its 2 minute outro is finger licking good!
2nd place is for Key To The Highway, such a great sound, absolutely love the guitarplay!
Really like the vibe of the album, weeping guitars and that typical, almost classical 60's sound.
This was really a awesome starter!

Rocks
Aerosmith
Im fairly familiar with most albums/song by Aerosmith.
But I don't know any of the songs on this album!
The album starts rather rocky, with a somewhat omnius intro, the style makes you think this album is gonna be filled with serious song.
That is, till the yodeling starts at the end of the first song.. you're reminded immediately that you're listening to Aerosmith lmao.
The song Lick And A Promise underlines that thought as well.
The next couple of songs vary in style like 'Last Child', which is more like a Lenny Kravitz style funk/rock song.
And Rats In The Cellar's style is more like a Blues Brothers style rock song.
While Nobody's fault is almost a hard rock, Led Zeppelin kinda song including the heavy riffs..
Overall the album is fairly heavy compared to the previous albums and it's understandable why this album was such a big influence.

Queen II
Queen
Never listened to this album before, only know one song! Damn! It is about time I start listening to this album!
The album starts with (Father To Son) that familiar Queen sound, heavy guitar riffs which is something I love in most of their songs.
The album continues with a slow ballad with also familiar guitar riffs and classic guitar included.
But then the album takes a turn with songs like Some Day One Day and The Loser In The End.
The first song mentioned could be a song by the Beatles! Almost no trace of Queen present in the song.
Loser In The End could've been a Bowie song also not really close one to home for Queen.
I understand where people get the idea this was a concept like album.
Time for side Black (instead of B side) as the band has called it.
This is where the band (Freddy) brings back that familiar Queen sound.
It starts off with Ogre Battle an almost musical style song.
The next song, Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke follows suit to the previous song with the musical feeling.
Que an unnoticeable transit to a short ballad, Nevermore, to finish off the scene.
Time for some more typical Queen guitar action with March of The Black Queen, packed with awesome riffs, breath catching moments followed by more riff violence.
Before the finale a rather cheesy almost filler like song called Funny How Love Is.
Neither a mentionable intro and outro (slow fade out)
Time for the last song, a well known one, Seven Seas of Rhye.
Lovely song, although nowhere near my favorite song.
Also the song is rather short and doesn't really feel like the finale of the album.
Ofcoure not a requisite for a last song but this is Queen, with the most previous songs considered you'd expect something big at the end.
Also this song was also featured on the 1st album, but I like this version better with the sailor chanting at the end.
In conclusion, I like this album alot.
Especially the Black side (the 2nd half) of the album

Bringing It All Back Home
Bob Dylan
I haven't listened alot to Bob Dylan in the past tbh.. although I like his style alot. I just never 'get tot it'.
So I was happy I got to listen to this album!
The first couple of songs are somewhat faster than his previous works with songs like Subterranean Homesick Blues and One the Road Again.
The second half of the album tends to be more like his protest folk songs and is more acoustic than the first half of the album.
My favorite song of the album is It's Alright, Ma. It contains some lyrics which are still relevant today!
Overall a real nice album which takes my mind back to a time the world was a lot more simple and smaller. Eventhough I didn't exist back then.

New Order
I really dig the 80's sound. Makes me think of Depeche Mode work.
That being said, I'm not really fan of the vocals. Don't really know why but it feels like a good match with the music.
It's good that there are a couple of instrumental song kmon tbebalbhn

It's A Shame About Ray
The Lemonheads
I wasn't familiar with The Lemonheads before although I think I've heard their cover of Mrs. Robinson before.
I think I can describe this album bast as a typical 90's indie rock album.
They don't have that 'unique' sound. Makes me feel like putting on some R.E.M. of Counting Crows, because that's what I associate this albums music with.
It has that feel of 'overthinking life/tough life choice moment' you see in series/movies sometimes which is complimented with a slow indie rock ballad like song to close the scene.
That what I think off when listen to these song.
Not bad, but not awesome either.
I think I prefer the Crows or R.E.M. instead tbh.

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury
The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
I have a thing for old school hiphop from the 80's/90's, but I haven't listened to alot of different artists in that genre.
Hency why I never heard of these guys.
I like the old school vibe of the album, the music, the use of samples, etc.
Although it saddens me that alot of theme's which are mentioned on the album are still problems we have today.

Safe As Milk
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
In it's core the album is a (country) blues rock album with somethimes some songs with soul influences.
But what's up with the troatsinging!?
Some song are pretty... experimental to say the least.
It has some ups and downs in de amount of experimental sound.
Also worth noting that the album has some nice instrumental songs at the end of the album.
Overall opinion: It's a decent album, nice to have listened a few times but I won't look it up again any time soon.

Fats Domino
Yes! I was very excited I got this album today!
Classic Rock 'n Roll!
Don't know his work that well, but everyone know this man's Blueberry Hill.
It's ashame Spotify doesn't have the licence for the whole album so I had to listen to the whole thing somewhere else, yarhg!
Great album, I hope there's more like this in the future.

Kilimanjaro
The Teardrop Explodes
The album has that typical 80's sound including the soft echoey vocals.
Talking about vocals, or actually lyrics.. I must say the lyrics make it pretty clear it shouldn't be taken too seriously.
It makes the vide of the songs pretty mellow which you wouldn't think at first.
Here and there you can also hear the influences of psychedelics, it gives the songs/album some wavy 'edges'.

Very funky album with some really nice soul songs.
The sing style makes me think of Jim Morrison.

The Youngbloods
Whoa! The musical genres on this album are really diverse.
It starts off with a folk music song, violin included!
Followed by a country folk/rock song.
The album then goes towards a more jazz style with a couple of songs/ballads.
Then it takes a turn and treats it's listeners to a few rock songs.
It then keeps floating a bit between the rock and jazz styles.
I like it alot, although the album is rather short.

The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
Genesis
I was only familiar with their well known songs so I was very interested in listening to this album because there aren't any well known songs on it.
My first thought after listening it for the first time: Boy, I do NOT get progressive rock lmao!
Also the album is a long one, but I guess if you're into Genesis alot that's a good thing.
Tbh, I'm not really that into Phill's vocals.
The lyrics vagueness differ from song to song and the usage of the synthesizer (way ahead of its era) makes the album a woolly experience.
Sometimes I had the idea I was listening to an acid trip unfolding.
I think I'll keep to their well known songs.

James Brown Live At The Apollo
James Brown
The man, the legend himself, on a live album!
It makes his music come to life so much more with the sound of the crowd.
It's an whole other experience than listening to an studio albums.
And that says alot since I'm not really into live albums that much.
Listening to this album makes you long for a warm, sweaty soul party.
Great listening!

Bee Gees
Hmm I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too much off.
It's a pretty sad/melodramatic album.
Nothing really upbeat as you'd expect with the Bee Gees.
There's probably a reason for that but I'm not familiar with the albums history.
I guess it's a typical album you put up on a bad fall day with the rain is pouring against the window outside and the days slowly get shorter.

Mariah Carey
Ah yes, the 90's... right back to my childhood.
The album has that typical 90's r&b sound alot of similar artists had.
My gf was really glad I 'had' to listen to this album lol..
I'm not really a fan of Mariah's breathy singing style. and almost find it annoying to listen to it.
It's like everything she sings she does it in an hushed/whispery way.
The album was a nice trip down memory lane because I grew up with this type of R&B.. but that's about it.
