1001 Albums Summary

08/30/2022 I can't think of a time when I've heard of this artist by name, but I'm pretty sure I have heard at least 2 of these songs. This was a good album, I didn't realize this type of music is considered "soul". I thought it'd to be more like rock. Which by the way, it seems pretty advanced for its time. Listening to "Shake" currently and I wouldn't say it came from 1965. I really liked the songs "A change is gonna come", "Down in Valley", and last but not least "You don't miss your water". And ofc "my girl" is unsaid.

Before I heard this album I was dreading it. I'm no fan of The Beatles, John Lennon, or the song "imagine" so I figured I'd not enjoy this album. The first couple of songs proved me right, then it picks up. I actually like the wide variety of sounds on this album from traditional beatles sounding stuff to move hippy/groovy vibes. The song "Oh my love" was my favorite, I actually really liked that one. 3/5 stars, nothing special one way or the other.

This album was really cool! I actually really enjoy this kind of music, it sounds like something I would make. "Sexy Boy" is now in my daily mix. This album was really easy to listen to and was satisfying. 4/5 not because it stood out, but because it was an easy listen and also cool sounds.

What an influential album. Great listen, totally recommend if you're looking for new sounds. God showed me a song from this album, and I never thought to look further into it. But, glad it came up for my album of yesterday, it was quite fitting.

There was some bangers on this... I didnt listen to them all, however its like musical style? idk. I'll have to listen to it more
