1001 Albums Summary

More upbeat and funky than I thought it would be. The only songs I knew prior were Nude and Weird Fishes - one of which is outright depressing/beautiful, and the other melancholy - so my expectations were set for something with similar tone throughout but I was pleasantly surprised! Pretty sure I’ve heard 15 steps before… I want to say it was in twilight but would need to check lol (confirmed :o). Big fan of it, on my second listen through. On my first listen, the last few tracks felt like it was dragging on a bit, but let’s see how the second round goes.

I wasn’t expecting much because I’m not super into rap and have heard a few kendrick songs through my ex so have that negative association. But I was pleasantly surprised by the sincerity of his lyrics, Kendrick conveyed to me life as a young black man in the modern age and he did it so perfectly. N-E-G-U-S, say it with me or say it no more. The speech in “I” was by far my favourite part, really solidified my feeling about the album. A couple misses from me so not a total win, and I can’t see myself re listening to more than a couple of songs while walking/chilling, maybe for exercise or hype purposes but 🤷🏽‍♀️

Much of a nothingness for me. Mum loves REM but I couldn’t really dig this one :(

Love it. It’s me all around - indie rock and horny vibes! Notable songs: I spy gave me phantom of the opera vibes… love. the rest was meh but I got distracted, will relisten properly another time but w/e. mum’s birthday too but she never rlly liked pulp

love the smiths, love this album, has most of my favourites on here so, SOLID. RIP HRH xx

A sweet, folk-rocky vibe for my travels in gloucestershire, but nothing to really write home about - except the first track, I liked that one a lot. Nice and upbeat but also a bit of nothingness?
