Absolutely loving the energy and the crowd interaction. Great audio quality too. “Imma GOin down to tha BUS station BaBAYYY - with a SUITcase in MY HANDUH…I ain’t got leukemia, that ain’t it” One of dozens of singers Zep copied from, specially Bring It On Home to me
Iconic one-liner lyrics fueled by chugging riffs from Tom Morello. Simple yet powerful. Not every song stands out but it’s still a fun album to revisit. I also completely forgot that Maynard (TOOL) does guest vocals on Know Your Enemy
This was the first full album I’ve listened to by The Police. It was very avant-garde and I loved how they borrowed sounds from a wide variety of cultures and genres. The album seemed to mellow out over its runtime and seems more consistent in the second half. I really enjoyed Stewart Copeland’s drumming. On the surface it seems very simple but there’s so many little things he throws in that is really cool. Murder by Numbers was my favorite song of his. I’m really curious as to what inspired Sting’s lyrics…from 3 story tall brontosauruses to the saftey of Miss Gradenko. All in all, it was a good album. Not necessarily something I’d go out of my way to listen to again but I can see the appeal.
First thing’s first, regardless if you like the music or not, you have to respect his vocals. George Michael has an awesome voice and sounds great. That being said…I personally did not enjoy this album. I’d applaud the quality but the only version available on Spotify was the 2017 Remastered one, so I couldn’t hear the “raw” version like I have with the other albums. The production was clean, but the occasional effects he would add on his voice (echo, chorus?) were annoying. If you like this type of music, I can see the appeal…I found it to be boring and predictable. Not crapping on GM’s talent, just not a huge fan.
I checked out halfway through. It’s not bad music, but it’s not my style at all.

This whole album sounds like the beginning of an acid trip going bad. I listen to some weird stuff, but this…this was out there. Loved the 4 minutes of him just saying “oh girl” and moaning over the same 2 chords. Frankie Teardrop was unnecessarily unsettling…but let’s hear it for Frankie James if you read reviews, these are the most moonsounds like lyrics I’ve heard.
